NES Open Tournament Golf is a NES game featuring Mario characters. As the name of the game implies, it is a golf game and was one of the first golfing game in the Mario series In the American version of the game, the graphics and soundtrack of the game is slightly changes. The game does not take place in the Mushroom Kingdom and instead takes place in Earth, or the "real world". The levels are Japan, America and the United Kingdom.
A version of this game was made for the Nintendo Playchoice-10 in America, called Mario's Open Golf. This game has also been released on the Virtual Console of the Nintendo Wii for 500 Wii Points.

Other Appearances
- Princess Toadstool and Daisy appear as Mario and Luigi's caddies.
- Toad appears whenever there is an O.B., and with a blue flag, he tells the player there is an O.B.
- Donkey Kong tells the player how much money they have, and he keeps it.
- A Monty Mole is shown in the cover of the game being hit by Mario's Golf Club.
- The name "Miyamoto" can be seen in the Tournament Roster.
