Star Catchers[edit]

Hi, it seems you reverted my edit on Star Catchers because what I added was "obvious". I just want to clarify to the contrary; the "normal" behavior as far as I'm aware is that two- or three-way ties at 0 points in a minigame would result in a tie for 3rd or 2nd place, respectively (Globe Gunners in the same game works like this), while Star Catchers has them tie at 4th (making it the only minigame where a 2- or 3-way tie for 4th is possible). But I haven't played a Mario Party game besides MPDS. Do you know if this is more consistent in other games? mathfreak231 15:58, June 13, 2019 (EDT)

Hmm, interesting. I've never tried that in any Mario Party game. The way it was worded made it seem like you were putting emphasis on the player losing when they didn't get any stars and how collecting all the stars while the others got none resulted in a win. Sorry about that. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 16:02, June 13, 2019 (EDT)

two-article disambigs[edit]

I can't for the life of me find any sort of policy page specifically on disambiguation pages. Do you know where "disambigs must have at least 3 articles" and other such information would be found? mathfreak231 22:54, June 20, 2019 (EDT)

I don't recall there being any, but it's apparently much more socially accepted to just use the "not to be confused with" template. Trig - 22:32, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

Your userboxes[edit]

Maybe you did it on purpose, but your order of total edits in regards to your userboxes goes 1600, 1700, 1900, 1800. You may have accidentally swapped one. Thought you'd want to know. Trig - 22:32, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

Fixed it. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 22:34, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

User boxes[edit]

Could you help me with user boxes. Yoshi Rudolph artwork.pngYoshiFan08(Talk)(Edits)SMW2yoshi.gif 7:27, June 23, 2019

Just put userboxtop and on a new line, put userboxbottom to create a tower. The userboxes go between them. Both me and TheDarkStar's userboxes are free to use (except the friend userboxes, you have to earn those). You can also look here for more info on this. Copy and paste[edit]

I didn't. I changed a little bit of stuff. Lord Falafel (talk) 20:09, July 11, 2019 (EDT)

SPM article:

In a 2007 interview, Seth Gordon, director of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, expressed his desire to create a film adaptation of Super Paper Mario. With the rising popularity of 3D movies, his idea for an adaptation involved constantly switching between 2D and 3D. However, Gordon also mentioned that, even though The King of Kong was screened for Nintendo, he has not been given an opportunity to speak with Nintendo about the idea.

You changed absolutely nothing except The King of Kong's second mention. It counts as copypaste. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 20:17, July 11, 2019 (EDT)

Yoshi[edit]

I know Yoshi only appeared in minigames. But saying he never appeared in the game is a complete lie or ignorance I'm trying to stop. I don't want to give the readers false information. Lord Falafel (talk) 10:15, July 12, 2019 (EDT)

That's why I rewrote it to say that Yoshi only appears in minigames. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 10:50, July 12, 2019 (EDT)

HEROWALUIGI[edit]

I just wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine after giving me that fake reminder on my talk page under the discussion board: consecutive edits, telling me that I should make no more than 3 edits on a page and everything else he's done. We shouldn't have people like him on our wiki. Did Steve ever cause this amount of problems? Alex? JC? You? 3 months? How about 3,000? Lord Falafel (talk) 23:30, July 13, 2019 (EDT)

If you find yourself wanting vengeance on other editors, please log off and calm down. And I've been here for five months, not three. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 23:32, July 13, 2019 (EDT)

I'm talking about how long Mario JC blocked him. Lord Falafel (talk) 23:34, July 13, 2019 (EDT)

That's the least important part of my comment; if you find yourself bitterly desiring comeuppance towards another editor, log off and calm down. Don't angrily make disruptive comments in edit summaries or delete parts of talk pages. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 23:41, July 13, 2019 (EDT)

HEROMARIO userbox[edit]

Since he is blocked again, this time for 3 months, would you add an userbox for that, like you did for his return? --Yoshi ski.png FanOfYoshi DrFreezegood SMW2.png 11:04, July 14, 2019 (EDT)

I'm not going to violate courtesy by drawing attention to another user's block. I'll remove the return userbox, it's outdated. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 11:31, July 14, 2019 (EDT)

Ty-Foo and Foo don't have very many similarities besides an English name and both being evil clouds. Ty-Foo's an actual danger, while Foo is a minor annoyance, at best. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 13:39, July 15, 2019 (EDT)

GMT[edit]

At the top of the Proposals page, it lists the current time from when the page is loaded. In this case, it's past July 17th, 23:59 GMT today, so that proposal can be archived today. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 20:12, July 17, 2019 (EDT)

When I checked it in Special:Diff, Special:Diff's time-of-edit said 20:07. So either there's an inconsistency between the two times, or it was a bug. Sorry for the confusion. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 20:14, July 17, 2019 (EDT)

Contact information[edit]

There are 2 ways to contact a guy who might have information regarding the 1993 super Mario world redemption arcade game by Fabtek. The first way is an aol and the second way is an Instagram page. If you're not interested, we should get glowsquid to help. I found these on borp's arcade coverage on the super Mario boards. I hope these links aren't dead. Please don't be offended, but no. None of you are forgiven. HEROWALUIGI for breaking the rules multiple times, him giving me a reminder without being an admin, you giving me a reminder, a warning and a last warning without being an admin, Alex95 for removing virtual boy wario land from the list of games while we still archived canceled games there, jjrapper100 for removing super Mario bros pinball from the list, whoever it was on the Mario boards for blocking that one guy's brother and not the guy, all the times you all wrongly thought something or misinterpreted something, all of you not adding games you already had on the wiki to the list, not researching for more and adding them, games, shows, films, videos, publications, merchandise and everything I didn't mention. I cannot forgive any of you for the acts you've done. And I don't want to sound offensive. I just don't like the majority of people on this wiki. That's why I'm gonna stay a loner on this wiki. And not being able to create your user page in one edit? That just annoys me. Good day. Lord Falafel (talk) 11:05, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

But I still need Alex's help with stuff. Lord Falafel (talk) 11:09, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

OK.

 1. Any user can give out reminders and warnings.
 2. It is possible to create a userpage in one edit, just start small and add more over time.
 3. That tirade is not going to earn you good favor with the admins.

Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 11:13, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

...Dude. These are by far the silliest possible reasons to hold a grudge. Absolutely 0% of what we do here is that serious. --ExdeathIcon.png Lord G. matters. ExdeathIcon.png 12:00, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
Pretty sure holding a grudge is also counterproductive and pointless. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 19:19, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

I'm not sure what report Falafel is talking about, there's nothing about this context on their talk page. But a minor mistake doesn't mean a reminder/warning (if one was given). Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:29, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

I forgot to italicize. Lord Falafel (talk) 19:32, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

I apparently misinterpreted the context of a lastwarn's "thou shalt not break any more rules" as a "thou shalt not break any more rules or a report will be issued". Care to explain the context? Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 19:36, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
A minor mistake is nothing worth blocking over. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:40, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
Yeah, sorry about that. I suggest rewriting lastwarn or at least clarifying what exactly a lastwarn means on the warning policy. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 19:43, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

Your Bull's-Eye Bill proposal[edit]

Like i said on the above discussion, it would have needed to be included in the proposal, being merged prior to a proposal for the rest. --Yoshi ski.png FanOfYoshi DrFreezegood SMW2.png 01:55, July 25, 2019 (EDT)

What i'm trying to say is that only merging the Mario Party ones wouldn't require a proposal, and as such, it would need another proposal for the rest. --Yoshi ski.png FanOfYoshi DrFreezegood SMW2.png 03:56, July 25, 2019 (EDT)

Re:Boo Buddy Swarm[edit]

Yes, it does matter if we use it judged solely on the subjective idea that it seems "name-like" because that most likely was not the intent of the author for the reasons I've already mentioned, but at this point I'm repeating myself. LinkTheLefty (talk) 07:31, August 1, 2019 (EDT)

New stubs[edit]

While they could use a tiny bit of fleshing out, there really isn't much info on either voice actor that would be considered directly relevant to the wiki, so I'm unsure if they would really count as new stubs. --ExdeathIcon.png Lord G. matters. ExdeathIcon.png 12:54, August 5, 2019 (EDT)

Yeah, good point. I don’t know why there isn’t a dedicated Wario wiki for those pages, all I can find on the festering landfill that is the first few Main Page talk archives (and basically all talk pages from 2009 or earlier) is that it got merged a while back. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 13:01, August 5, 2019 (EDT)

Ice Age Alley[edit]

We merge it because it's good to retain all the info -- and sometimes there's actually images or information that is yet to be put onto mario wiki. By the way, I attempt to rewrite any of the dk wiki stuff that gets carried over Results May Vary (talk) 19:46, August 13, 2019 (EDT)

Personally, I don't really consider something mergeworthy if the info is already there and it's poorly written, but you have a good point for the "kong letters and other dk stuff" tables. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 21:25, August 13, 2019 (EDT)

Are you a Donkey Kong Jr. fan?[edit]

I read your userpage and you seem to like Donkey Kong Jr. a lot. Why? -A concerned citizen

That unfinished review section is meant to be over-the-top and ridiculous. And yes, I do like DKJR that much. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 20:13, August 15, 2019 (EDT)
What if your fate for your sins was to play Donkey Kong Jr. for the rest of your life? -A concerned citizen

"Spamish" summaries[edit]

I always use the ... in my edit summaries anytime a terrible edit, vandalized edit, redundant edit or anything of the sort happens immediately after my published edits. I'm just really annoyed whenever these occurences happen, if my userpage is anything to go by. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 19:25, August 19, 2019 (EDT)

I wasn't talking about the ... in general. I was talking about the large twenty-dot ellipsis you used. Twenty dots is going a bit overboard with the dots. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 19:32, August 19, 2019 (EDT)

"Necroing" old discussions[edit]

"Necro" literally means "dead," so "necroing" would be more along the line of killing. Resurrection is "necromancing," which would not be the same thing as "necroing." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:49, August 22, 2019 (EDT)

I use "necroing" to refer to necromancing. Sorry for the confusion. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 15:56, August 22, 2019 (EDT)
It's also forum-originated terminology and categorically informal anyway, so not like it matters much. --ExdeathIcon.png Lord G. matters. ExdeathIcon.png 00:09, August 23, 2019 (EDT)

Thanks for undoing my edits. I thought it was good that I was helping the Mario fan base expand their knowledge, but I guess not. Lord Falafel (talk) 22:30, August 28, 2019 (EDT)

Drop that flippant attitude. People make mistakes, as you said. What you done is good, but you shouldn't use that to make yourself look better, or antagonize other users. You make get courtesy reminders in the future. Doomhiker (talk)Topmini.png 22:35, August 28, 2019 (EDT)

Mercy[edit]

Please don't do this to me. I need to edit this wiki. You need my help. Lord Falafel (talk) 22:57, August 28, 2019 (EDT)

I reported more because you seemed to have learned absolutely nothing from your previous warnings. I actually have a very long deliberation period for warnings, only issuing one when I'm absolutely sure the recipient has truly broken the rules. I'll say this for the last time: drop the attitude. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 23:00, August 28, 2019 (EDT)

Does anyone on this wiki hate me? Lord Falafel (talk) 23:03, August 28, 2019 (EDT)

No, why would you even think that? Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 23:08, August 28, 2019 (EDT)

Because of all the times I broke the rules. Why shouldn't they hate me for that? If I broke all these rules, why am I still being supported? I don't think anyone on this wiki has gotten as many chances as I have to behave and not break the rules. Lord Falafel (talk) 23:12, August 28, 2019 (EDT)

Quite a few other users on this wiki have gotten warnings and were even blocked. Don't expect to be perfect. Yeah, per OMF. I'm not some evil supervillain out to ruin the lives of everyone, I'm just a user who can sometimes be a bit overzealous. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 22:14, September 3, 2019 (EDT)

That is a good reason. Let's try not to be overzealous. Let us stay relaxed and we can all work together without conflict. Lord Falafel (talk) 22:21, September 3, 2019 (EDT)

Captain Goomba is not actually a boss in First Battle![edit]

Like I've said three times now, that particular fight with Captain Goomba does not count as a boss under any capacity set by the game. In the case of Bowser Jr.'s Journey, any plot-important stages involving collecting a Key Item or fighting a plot-important boss or groups of enemies have the regular boss music. Every other instance has the regular old fighting music, which is exactly what the very first stage has. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 23:41, September 8, 2019 (EDT)

And like I've said several times, a boss doesn't need to meet some specific criteria to be a boss. Captain Goomba in this case would be a case of a practice boss at its finest, as is Mario & Luigi tradition. Bowser's first fight in Bowser's Inside Story uses the regular enemy music and he's considered a boss (unless there's something I'm missing here). Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 23:47, September 8, 2019 (EDT)
Let's see, Fawful, Junior Shooboid, Baby Bowser, Bowser, Midbus, Broque Monsieur, Antasma, all "bosses," but at least most of them lack the music themselves. I see no reason this shouldn't be the same situation, but I haven't played the remake myself, so I don't know. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:02, September 9, 2019 (EDT)
At least for those bosses, they were usually labelled as such by the game either before the battle begins (the tutorial bosses in the 3DS games) or the music track in question (literally most of them). Either that or a strategy guide could deduce which ones were boss material or not. Here, there is no officially-released strategy guide for Bowser Jr.'s Journey. Meaning we can't determine which enemies at the end of a stage are bosses unless the boss battle music track plays in those situations. However, in BJJ, some stages have boss music despite there being no actual boss to fight. Captain Goomba in the very first battle of the game does not have this criteria at all. Again, TheDarkStar's statement is flawed, because of the simple fact that we can't just determine a random criteria to seemingly use for every game made in existence. Each game is made and produced differently, so what the game determines is a boss or not will vary. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 00:09, September 9, 2019 (EDT)
You twisted my words a bit there. I didn't say anything about "criteria for every game in existence", that's an exaggeration. I said that it makes no sense to proclaim a stage not a boss because it has no boss music when it's painfully obvious that this is a series-tradition practice boss, like Bowsee and Antasma. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 10:08, September 9, 2019 (EDT)
"They can't be a boss because the strategy guide doesn't say so!!!"
I mean... you sure about that?
Never mind that strategy guides tend to be somewhat (though not completely) unreliable sources sometimes, it's a pretty well-established form of early-game tutorial tool for a lot games, to say nothing of just RPGs. Between this and that proposal, it legitimately seems like they're running off a rather narrow definition of what a boss actually is in the belief that that's what it "should" be. --ExdeathIcon.png Lord G. matters. ExdeathIcon.png 20:27, September 9, 2019 (EDT)

Regarding the Yoshi's Story snake TPP[edit]

Hello. If you're seeing this, I've updated the proposal with another option and tried to neaten/clarify things a bit more, and I'm sending you and other voters this message in order to inform you of the changes, as courtesy dictates (and especially if you might want to change your vote). Thank you and good day. --ExdeathIcon.png Lord G. matters. ExdeathIcon.png 00:04, September 10, 2019 (EDT)

Actually did that before I got the message, thanks. I watch the recent changes constantly just in case there's a proposal or something, but thanks. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 00:06, September 10, 2019 (EDT)

How did i do? Yoshi Rudolph artwork.pngYoshiFan08(Talk)(Edits)SMW2yoshi.gif 7:22, December 8, 2019 (EST)

Try resizing the image to be a bit smaller so it doesn't shove everything to the side by using |(number)px (i.e.. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 10:51, December 8, 2019 (EST)

Infobox proposal[edit]

Since you were one of the supporters of my earlier proposal, would you mind leaving feedback on this so I can get started? Thanks. --MK8DX Waluigi Icon.png Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 12:27, December 4, 2019 (EST)

Point of no return?[edit]

Why, hello there. I was thinking about making an article similar to Fourth wall, List of missable content, and Unrevisitable locations called Point of no return. Basically, it would be about how, at a certain point of the game, if a player triggers a certain cutscene, they cannot collect any more items or save their progress. Do you feel this would be necessary? Just a thought. Present TTYD.png THE MANSION Cake TTYD.png 12:53, December 4, 2019 (EST)

It would probably depend on how many games have one. I know Luigi's Mansion 3 has one, but I'm otherwise stumped as to how many games have one. Either way, I'm for creating the article, though a proposal may be required. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 12:57, December 4, 2019 (EST)
When creating the article, I was thinking about the Mario & Luigi, Paper Mario, and Luigi's Mansion games. (For example, in Luigi's Mansion, the point of no return would be just before Luigi approaches King Boo in the Secret Altar, although if he dies in the final battle, he gets another chance to find treasure. Once King Boo is defeated, the mansion disappears, so Luigi cannot find anymore treasure unless he restarts his progress in the mansion or plays Hidden Mansion mode. Hate to stalk the convo but I'm totally down for the idea. There's a lot of games that do this (and I hate it) and I think it is a valid design to indicate. Trig - 14:59, December 4, 2019 (EST)
I'd also support the creation of such an article. MLPJToadetteWink.gif ToadettetheAchiever 15:59, December 4, 2019 (EST)

I'll try to make it tonight. I would also appreciate some help! Present TTYD.png THE MANSION Cake TTYD.png 16:03, December 4, 2019 (EST)

Do you want to be friends?[edit]

You are one of the best users on the wiki and I think we could be friends. FireyYoshi (talk)

Well, thanks! Unfortunately, I don't take friend userboxes, sorry. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 15:31, December 8, 2019 (EST)
Yay! FireyYoshi (talk)

Question 2[edit]

How do you add those images/gifs to user signatures and to articles? LuigisMansion4GameCubeFan

Use . As such, becomes Koopa.png. Check out Help:Image for further help. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 20:30, December 20, 2019 (EST)

The edit button is the pencil icon at the top right of the page. Present DKC3.png TheDarkStar MK64Snowman.png 18:36, January 13, 2020 (EST)

It was not there User:LuigiMansion4GameCubeFan Luigi.png

I have two possible solutions for you.
 1. Ask an admin to edit it for you. They can edit userpages.
 2. Switch to desktop view (it's a link at the bottom of each page saying "Desktop view", but this link will do it too).
