Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park (alternatively formatted as Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meet Up in Bellabel Park)[34] is an enhanced port of Super Mario Bros. Wonder released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 26, 2026, as part of the Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary celebration. First announced during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, the port includes new multiplayer co-op and competitive game modes along with the appearance of characters such as Rosalina and Co-Star Luma, the Koopalings, the Baby Yoshis, and the Toad Brigade.
As with other "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" software, owners of the original Super Mario Bros. Wonder can purchase the additional content as DLC via an upgrade pack. Conversely, the base game can be played on the original Nintendo Switch if the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cartridge is inserted.
The game was covered during the Nintendo Treehouse: Live event on February 24, 2026.[35]
New content
Playable characters
| Name | Description | Attributes |
|---|---|---|
Rosalina |
Rosalina appears as a new playable character. Having crash landed a Starshroom before the events of the game, she joins Mario and his friends on their journey through the Flower Kingdom. A Luma also accompanies Rosalina during gameplay, but its appearance is purely cosmetic. | She functions and controls the same way as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad, and Toadette. |
Co-Star Luma |
Co-Star Luma returns from Super Mario Galaxy 2 as an assistant type character, available when two or more players are playing locally. Co-Star Luma cannot be selected in Attraction Central. | They can freely fly around the screen and spin to defeat enemies. Like the Yoshis and Nabbit, they cannot take damage. They can also be controlled using the Joy-Con 2's mouse controls. |
Captain Toad and Plucky |
Captain Toad is the leader of the Toad Brigade. Pluckys are yellow birds who wear a red neckerchief similar to Captain Toad's. They also deliver messages from a Poplin recruit helping track down the Koopalings to the player and Captain Toad. Captain Toad and a Plucky are exclusively playable in the Fly Free, Captain Toad! attraction in Bellabel Park. | One player controls Captain Toad while another controls the Plucky. Captain Toad cannot jump, so the second player uses the Plucky to help lift him off the ground. |

Bosses
The Koopalings return as bosses. Upon entering Bellabel Park, the Koopalings steal the seven Bellabel Flowers from Bellabel Park, and Captain Toad and the Recruit Poplin help the player find them. Each Koopaling hides in a different world of the Flower Kingdom, which now features a new level type, called Brigade Tent. These levels are remixed versions of older levels where the Koopalings use Wonder powers to transform into different forms, and the player must proceed through the level while constantly being attacked, before battling the corresponding Koopaling at the end. Upon defeating them, they are rewarded with a Bellabel Flower.
After Ludwig is defeated, harder versions of these bosses become available as challenges in the Toad Brigade Training Camp.
