T-O-Y Letters
Sprites of the three letters

Letters[1] are collectibles that appear in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. They function similarly to the K-O-N-G Letters from the Donkey Kong Country series, but there are a total of three of them that spell out "TOY" and they only appear in the Mini-Mario levels that are before the boss fight of each world, replacing the presents from the other levels. However, they do not appear in any of the plus levels in the game, despite Mini-Marios appearing there. Only Mini-Marios are able to collect letters, as Mario himself will simply pass through them. Each letter is worth 500 points, and when all three are collected in the level, the player will be able to unlock the toy box to complete the level.
