Greetings, beautiful 'Shroom readers! Welcome to this November edition of Fun Stuff, where I am still getting absolutely destroyed by daylights savings! Even though we're about a week removed from it now! Send help!!

It's another fairly standard month for Fun Stuff, but with a special acknowledgement we missed last month: FunkyK38 (talk) hit her one-hundredth edition of Where in the Marioverse is Carmen Sandiego?! That is a phenomenal feat, and I'm thankful for the years of dedication she's shown to the team. Be sure to give her a shout for this issue's 101st edition!

Otherwise, it's many of the classics you know and love, alongside a bonus It's aMAZEing! section from Meta Knight (talk), celebrating an extra-special anniversary. There's all kinds of occasions to celebrate this month, so get cozy and read on, and be prepared as we gear up for our holiday issue next month!

Anagrams

Written by: BBQ Turtle (talk)

Hi everyone, welcome to the November edition of anagrams! This month I've been lucky enough to receive a theme suggestion courtesy of the very lovely Fizzle1491 (talk)- Mario + Rabbids enemies! You're bound to enjoy these, and thank you again for suggesting them! If you fancy suggesting future themes for me, or fun anagrams I can use, please send them to me on my talk page or in a PM to me on the forums, I would really like to see what you've all got! Well, I've got to bounce, so I'll let you spring into these anagrams.

How it works...
Basically, this puzzle consists of solving the anagrams. Each month has a specific theme, which will give you a clue about what sort of words or phrases the anagrams will be. I've also included the boxes that the anagrams will fit into, so you'll be able to tell how many words it will solve to be and how many letters will be in each word, which should give you a hand too. You'll also notice that within each set of boxes, one of the squares are yellow. As you solve each anagram, note down the letter which appears in the yellow squares, and if you can solve all of the anagrams, you'll also get a bonus anagram to solve from completing all of the others. I've included the letter configuration for this one at the bottom too, just to give you an extra helping hand. Best of luck!

It's aMAZEing!

Written by: Meta Knight (talk)

Are you lost 'Shroom readers? Well you'll need to find your way out in this edition of It's aMAZEing! This is a special occasion for me, because my debut as a 'Shroom writer was for this very section ten years ago! I'll spare you the boring reminiscing on my end (even if I do enjoy yappin' about myself). At the time I decided to do a Super Leaf to celebrate fall. What better way to rehash pay homage than by creating a spiritual successor to that? Obviously, by doing a leaf again, but this time it's a Statue Leaf!

I hope you enjoy this maze, and thanks to Ninja Squid (talk) for brushing up the format so that I can steal it.

Whether you trek through the maze or are lost forever, remember that a lot of growth happens in a decade. No matter how much things have changed, you're still here, and its important to recognize that. Have fun in The 'Shroom and everything else you do!

It's time for Crosswords here at The 'Shroom, and I'm sure you're as excited as I am for the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie that was announced Wednesday. To commemorate this, today we'll be looking at some of the enemies that have graced the screen in this delightful duology of the Super Mario Galaxy games. I'm MarioMorty, enjoy, and I'll see you next month!

Hiding Koopa

Written by: Waluigi Time (talk)

Hello there, 'Shroom readers! This issue marks three years of me making Hiding Koopa (where does the time go?), and would you believe it, I somehow haven't touched a Kirby game in that whole time? With Kirby Air Riders about to release, it seemed like a good time to fix that, so now there's five Koopas hiding in artwork from the game. Better find them before they escape on one of those Warp Stars...

Pixel Personas

November is such a quiet and peaceful month... and it's also perfect for another calm issue of Pixel Personas. Nothing like a fun mental game such as this one that gets you thinking! Can you see through the pixels and identify these three subjects?

New to Pixel Personas? Here's what it's about: Pixel Personas is a game played in three rounds. In each round, I'll show an image of a Super Mario character (this includes enemies), but they're all pixelated! You (the readers) must analyze and identify who these characters are. Each round is tougher than the last, with more lesser-known characters and larger pixels, making it more difficult to tell who it is. After you make your guess, click/tap onhover over the card the image is on to flip it over and reveal the character!

Have a pumpkin or apple-spiced drink in hand? You don't need one to play, but it'll be nice to have. You may begin!

Congratulations! Thank you for taking the time and playing through my game. I'm going to prepare December's issue now, and it's gonna be winter-themed! See you later!

Connections

Written by: Roserade (talk)

Greetings, beautiful 'Shroom readers! Welcome back to another edition of Connections! All that blistery weather outside caused me to cram my terms in my pocket to keep them dry... and now they're all wadded up together! Let's sort them back out together, yeah?

How it works:
Below is a table of sixteen different words, all of them with some sort of connection to the Mario series. These words correlate in sets of four, and it's up to you to figure out which words belong to a set! Work through the grid and decide which words are connected. Once you think you have the answer, check against the provided answers. If you get stuck along the way, feel free to utilize the clues. There's only one correct answer, so be on the lookout for words that feel like they might fit in more than one category. Good luck!

Winter Dash Spring Dragon
Groovy Life Sundae Fire
Vancouver Fall Weird Star
Ninja Switch Autumn Crystal
Clue 1

Start with "Vancouver"

Clue 2

Maybe this clue will make a world of difference.

Clue 3

This puzzle is making my brain turn to mush...

Answer
  1. Vancouver, Sundae, Ninja, Autumn: tours in Mario Kart Tour
  2. Groovy, Fall, Star, Switch: unlockables in Super Mario World
  3. Dash, Spring, Life, Weird: ___ Mushroom
  4. Winter, Dragon, Fire, Crystal: ___ Palace

How did you do? Did you figure out the connections? Thanks for playing!

Hex Puzzle

Written by: Aomaf (talk)

welcome to the Hex Puzzle of November 2025! Let's get started!

How It Works
You need to use hex numbers to decode texts (or, if you are too lazy to decode the text yourself, copy the hex to a hex editor like HxD). When doing it manually, look for repeated hex values and guess at what letters they might be, or fill them in using letters you decoded from previous puzzles. For instance, 4D 61 72 69 6F 20 61 6E 64 20 4C 75 69 67 69 is "Mario and Luigi" or 4D 69 63 6B 65 79 20 4D 6F 75 73 65 20 41 6E 64 20 44 6F 6E 61 6C 64 20 44 75 63 6B is "Mickey Mouse And Donald Duck". With these together, you can guess that 4D is a capital M.
Hex Value Table
Use this table to translate hex values manually. The column on the left correlates to the first digit of the value, while the top row correlates to the second digit of the value. As an example, "41" would translate to A on this table.

Answer
Yoshi is a dinosaur-like character that acts as an ally of Mario and Luigi and is the protagonist of his own franchise. Among members of the Yoshi species hailing from Yoshi's Island, any Yoshi may be identified as the "Yoshi" character, and as such, not all iterations of the character are necessarily the same one. According to the Super Mario World manual, he got his name from Yoshi's Island because he was first discovered there

HOW TO PLAY

Each issue, you will be given a case to solve and clues to use to help you find the solution! Use your Mario knowledge to crack the case!

You will begin each case at the scene of the crime, and you will be given three clues from passerby as to where the next hot spot is and what game it’s from. Using your knowledge of Mario games and the Super Mario Wiki, figure out where the crook is and go track them down! There are four locations each round: the crime scene (1) at the start, two locations (2 and 3) with clues, and the hideout for the crook of the month (4). Answers for locations will be given with the corresponding round, for example, the clues from the crime scene will lead you to location 2, and once you open the spoiler bubbles for location 2, you will be given the correct answer. You can open the clues for each location in any order you’d like, but be careful! You may encounter an incorrect clue that could throw you off the case!

Clues offered will give you a hint either about the next location or the game it’s in. Unlike a regular Carmen Sandiego game, you do not have to collect information about the crook you are tracking down.

Challenge round (optional):

-Find all locations and games correctly in two minutes or less

-Find all locations and games correctly without using the rest of the Wiki for help

This castle is going to be just a dream if we don't hurry!

"Carmen has resorted to stealing from children once again, gumshoe. Bowser has been in contact with us as a Christmas gift he had been preparing for Bowser Jr. has gone missing- his own Bowser Castle, plucked straight from the lava lake where it was under construction! Bowser's Castle has been an important monument in many different games, whether it is a boss arena from a main series game, a racing course for the Kart series, or a sports court from one of the many sports Mario and Co. like to partake it. It's only natural that he would want his son to have a castle of his own, and he had set out building one for Junior as a Christmas present. They were nearly done building and getting ready to start painting when Carmen's cronies used another Mini Mushroom to shrink it and swipe it right out from under them! This is where you come in, gumshoe! We need you to find out where that castle is and nab our crook so we can make sure Bowser Jr. has a good Christmas from his father. It's time to get down to business!"

CASE CLOSED

HIDEOUT ANSWER: Bombay/Mumbai from Mario Is Missing! Bombay in Mario is Missing!

You've secured the key to our castle!!

"Another spot of excellent work, gumshoe! Mumbai may be a big city, but in Mario Is Missing, you couldn't just plop down a castle and expect no one to notice! Our crook was waiting in a playground to do the handoff with Carmen, an excellent hiding place for a kiddie-sized kids' castle. ACME agents swooped in to make the arrest, and the present and our crook are now in ACME custody waiting to be questioned. Bowser is on his way to pick up his gift, with Mushrooms to use once it's back in its rightful place in the lava flow. He has sent ahead a sizeable reward for you for finding the crook, which we have already deposited into your account. Perhaps you can use it for some Christmas shopping of your own once you finish your report for this case! Back to ACME HQ, and we will be in touch when we have a new mission for you!"

Musical Quiz

MusicalQuiz Logo.png

Hi there, 'Shroom readers! It's your Design Manager Ninja Squid here with another round of the Musical Quiz!

November has arrived, and it's starting to get cold. I do NOT like this! I need warmth and comfort, and cold air is anything but comfortable. Brrr, just thinking about it gives me the shivers. Yuck! Oh well, I'll take the fact that I get to stay long enough in my very warm Design Manager office while working on the upcoming holiday issue as good news. Plenty of heat to enjoy! It's great not having to pay the heating bills in here. Double the good news! ;-)

Anyway, how about enjoying a cozy game right now by listening to the selected soundtracks below? The goal remains the same: can you guess which games they come from?

Enjoy!
