Anagrams
Written by: BBQ Turtle (talk)
Hallo-ween everyone, welcome to October's 'Shroom issue! I hope you don't boo my choice of theme for this month, we're going for Luigi's Mansion bosses! The whole series, that is, not just the first game (that would be quite a limited set). What I hope isn't limited, however, is your ideas for future section themes and anagrams to incorporate into them! Please feel free to send them to me on my talk page or in a PM to me on the forums! OK, it's time for you to ghost on and jack out the answers to these anagrams!
How it works...
Basically, this puzzle consists of solving the anagrams. Each month has a specific theme, which will give you a clue about what sort of words or phrases the anagrams will be. I've also included the boxes that the anagrams will fit into, so you'll be able to tell how many words it will solve to be and how many letters will be in each word, which should give you a hand too. You'll also notice that within each set of boxes, one of the squares are yellow. As you solve each anagram, note down the letter which appears in the yellow squares, and if you can solve all of the anagrams, you'll also get a bonus anagram to solve from completing all of the others. I've included the letter configuration for this one at the bottom too, just to give you an extra helping hand. Best of luck!
1. FATAL FIBS
2. PSYCHOS OR GROUSES
3. MINI SEMI PAYLOADS
4. SPA MUTINIES
5. THICK FIRM BANKS
6. KOI HOP FANATICS
7. WASTEFUL MAID EGOS
8. IT WORSENS
9. LASH ADAPT MAJORING
10. ROB TOMB HERBS
11. NOT EVEN CARVING
12. SO SOLO BUS
Bonus anagram:
- Biff Atlas
- Grouchy Possessor
- Melody Pianissima
- Miss Petunia
- King MacFrights
- Captain Fishook
- Amadeus Wolfgeist
- Sir Weston
- DJ Phantasmagloria
- Bomb Brothers
- Vincent Van Gore
- Boolossus
Bonus anagram: Slim Bankshot
Word Search
You know what's a pretty good game that I'll never consider playing again? The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Set in a different environment than most Zelda games, with a much darker tone, fun characters, and 90% more falling moon than the average Zelda game. I enjoy everything about Majora's Mask except the idea of actually playing it. I just don't want to have to deal with constantly going back in time. So this month's Word Search is all about the characters and cast of Majora's Mask. Words can be found vertically, horizontally, diagonally (especially diagonally), backwards, and inside other words. Please excuse the messed up title; it seems the site I use to generate these how you say does not like '. As always, have fun and stay safe.
Crossword
Written by: MarioMorty (talk)
Hey y'all, MarioMorty here. Welcome back to Crosswords, and as the season turns, I can only hope you won't be turning the pages on this puzzle. Today, we're taking a look at your favorite dino, as you'll be solving for some of the enemies you'd find in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. That's all for me, so peace out and have fun!
Hiding Koopa
Written by: Waluigi Time (talk)
Hello,
Five of uz are hiding in thiz artwork from Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. Pleaze do not try to find uz becauze we wood like to win the game.

Thanks for playing, neighbor! Did you find them all?
Pixel Personas
Hi! You've arrived just in time for Pixel Personas! Why? Because it's the spooky and scary one! All three of these subjects fit perfectly with the Halloween theme! I assure you that this is no trick, but a treat for you to enjoy. Happy early Halloween everyone, even though the holiday won't arrive until 13 days!
New to Pixel Personas? Here's what it's about: Pixel Personas is a game played in three rounds. In each round, I'll show an image of a Super Mario character (this includes enemies), but they're all pixelated! You (the readers) must analyze and identify who these characters are. Each round is tougher than the last, with more lesser-known characters and larger pixels, making it more difficult to tell who it is. After you make your guess, click/tap onhover over the card the image is on to flip it over and reveal the character!
Time to get your adrenaline rushing, like you just received a big scare from watching a spooky film! You may begin!
Round 1
Round 2
Round 3
Did you have a frightfully good time playing? You've done well... but there's always another Pixel Personas on the horizon. See you next month!
Connections
Greetings, beautiful 'Shroom readers! Welcome back to another edition of Connections! With Halloween right around the corner, I returned back to my office this evening and discovered a harrowing fright: my terms got all jumbled again! It would be such a treat if you would help me out real quick.
How it works:
Below is a table of sixteen different words, all of them with some sort of connection to the Mario series. These words correlate in sets of four, and it's up to you to figure out which words belong to a set! Work through the grid and decide which words are connected. Once you think you have the answer, check against the provided answers. If you get stuck along the way, feel free to utilize the clues. There's only one correct answer, so be on the lookout for words that feel like they might fit in more than one category. Good luck!
| Proto | Psych | Sike | Dangling |
| Cay | Lantern | Shock | Each |
| Inky | Dino | Okey | Potted |
| Bowser | Caged | Fire | Ice |
Start with "Dino"
Isn't this connection just a blast?
I wonder what Doopliss would say now...
- Dino, Proto, Inky, Fire: ___ Piranha (Plant)
- Psych, Shock, Bowser, Ice: ___ Bomb
- Sike, Cay, Each, Okey: Mario characters missing their "p" (Spike, Cappy, Peach, Pokey)
- Dangling, Lantern, Potted, Caged: ___ Ghosts in the Yoshi's Island series
- Note: "Fire" and "Ice" are technically interchangeable terms for the above categories. If you swapped these two around, consider yourself still a winner!
How did you do? Did you figure out the connections? Thanks for playing!

Where in the Marioverse is Carmen Sandiego?
Each issue, you will be given a case to solve and clues to use to help you find the solution! Use your Mario knowledge to crack the case!
You will begin each case at the scene of the crime, and you will be given three clues from passerby as to where the next hot spot is and what game it’s from. Using your knowledge of Mario games and the Super Mario Wiki, figure out where the crook is and go track them down! There are four locations each round: the crime scene (1) at the start, two locations (2 and 3) with clues, and the hideout for the crook of the month (4). Answers for locations will be given with the corresponding round, for example, the clues from the crime scene will lead you to location 2, and once you open the spoiler bubbles for location 2, you will be given the correct answer. You can open the clues for each location in any order you’d like, but be careful! You may encounter an incorrect clue that could throw you off the case!
Clues offered will give you a hint either about the next location or the game it’s in. Unlike a regular Carmen Sandiego game, you do not have to collect information about the crook you are tracking down.
Challenge round (optional):
-Find all locations and games correctly in two minutes or less
-Find all locations and games correctly without using the rest of the Wiki for help
"Your next job has arrived, gumshoe! We received a call from Rosalina, saying her special storybook has gone missing! Rosalina's first appearance in the Mario series was Super Mario Galaxy, where she acted as the caretaker of the Comet Observatory and mother to the Lumas. You could sit in the library and listen while she read her storybook, and learn more about her backstory from said book. This book was then announced to be going into physical production in the most recent Nintendo Direct, so eager Rosalina fans could own their own copies. Unfortunately, the original has gone missing! Rosalina mentioned that she hadn't seen anyone in the library, but several of the Lumas have pointed in the direction of the culprit. Now, we're not sure if it is Carmen or not, but famous thief or small time crook, we will find that storybook! Time to move, on the double!"

"You've cracked the case, gumshoe! Following your lead, we found our crook stuck in the middle of several of the Sugarstars looping around him. He's not part of Carmen's organization, he is just a jerk who thought he could make a quick buck stealing the book and selling it online before the physical copy production starts later this year. Needless to say, the Lumas are very angry with him, and we've taken him into our custody for his own safety. He'll be properly booked on theft charges later. The Lumas are very pleased with you, gumshoe! Rosalina accepted the book back happily, and she and the Lumas provided you with a big bag of Star Bits. She mentioned that Mario could help you get them turned into coins, but if you'd like to keep them as they are, you are free to do that as well. Either way, we placed a small bonus on top of your regular pay into your account. Don't spend it all in one place, because it's time to come back to HQ to write up your case file! We'll let you know when your next case is ready!"
