Mario's helicopter is what Mario uses to go from the jungle to his hideout in the original arcade version of Donkey Kong Jr. Mario attaches Donkey Kong's cage to the bottom of his helicopter to bring him to his hideout. Donkey Kong Jr. follows Mario by floating using an umbrella.
Mario also uses his helicopter at the end of Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (now depicting the letter "M") when he retrieves the golden Princess Peach statue.
