Add the Flag list template to browser game articles[edit]

Brown Block This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal.

Add the template 7-0
All of the browser game articles we currently have - as far as I know - do not use the flag list template. Not all browser games were released in one location, however; many were released in North America, i.e. Maestro Mario, Mario Net Quest, and Which Mushroom Kingdom Character Would Be Your BFF?, but other games were released in other locations, such as Peach's Puzzle (Europe), Jibun de Tsukuru Made in Ore Package (Japan), and Roll the TP (China). Due to this, I think the flag list template should be added to browser game articles.

I am unsure if this warrants a proposal.

Templates of the Caribbean (Support)[edit]

  1. Captain Nelsonic Sparrow (talk) Per proposal.
  2. Camwoodstock (talk) Seems only fair, and can additionally provide context for what region the game was made for if we go the "using the country flag" route (per comments). Per proposal.
  3. Yoshi18 (talk) Per Camwoodstock.
  4. Kaptain Skurvy (talk) per proposal
  5. Rykitu (talk) Per all.
  6. SuperGamer18 (talk) Per all.
  7. Davy Jones (Altendo) This would make things a lot more consistent. Per all.

Dead Templates Tell No Tales[edit]

Tales of the WikiCode: Wedlocked (Comments)[edit]

Out of curiosity, since these web games are far less region-locked thanks to how the internet works in general, would these use the World flag, or the flag of the region the site was made for (since Nintendo's websites, despite not being region locked, still have regional variants)? @Camwoodstock I would prefer that the variant for the regional site be used, as, even though the game was not region-locked, it was only localized for one specific region. For instance, Jibun de Tsukuru Made in Ore Package is entirely in Japanese. I can understand using the world flag, though. Super Mario Bros. That works for us, we were just curious as the original proposal didn't make the protocol clear. :O Camwoodstock-sigicon.png~Camwoodstock ( talk contribs ) Camwoodstock-sigicon2.png 18:49, December 30, 2025 (EST)

Split objects[edit]

Brown Block This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal.

Per the Donkey Kong Country Barrel Maze proposal. We currently split items, levels, and characters from their respective games. For instance, Lumalee is split from Super Mario Galaxy, Kritter is split from its appearances in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Bananza, The Great Goal Pole, Fur Step Island, World 1-1, and Metro Kingdom all have their own articles, etcetera. However, this is largely not done for browser games. Unique items are currently merged to their respective browser games. For consistency, I believe these should be split, since each of these could fill out their own articles. (As has been proven to be the case with the Barrel Maze splits.) This does not concern that many articles, as not many browser games introduced wholly new subjects (though they did almost always feature unique levels. Just so that I don't put a large amount of work on my plate at once if this passes, those'll be subject to a separate proposal). The subjects in question - as well as their merits for splitting - are listed below. As many of these objects are wildly different from each other, I have formatted this as a poll proposal.

  • magic cards - appearing in Mario's Memory Madness. They are the macguffin of said game. Bowser tries to steal them from Mario, and they technically have unique properties in that they "grant" the player coins while the Mushroom Bank is on the screen. Bowser also gets really excited when he steals them, so they're kinda-sorta a collectible?
  • Poltergust 1000 - appearing in PolterCue. This one has actually already been turned into a redirect. This is a unique Poltergust model with unique (albeit strange) functionality and a unique name, thus I feel it could fill out an article.
  • Wendy's treats - the collectible of Baby Mario's A-Maze-ing Game. They are kinda just Flash-ified product placement, but they do function as each maze's goal (and collectible?) nonetheless. There's different varieties of treats, and they actually cause a glitch in the game (or, really, they make it slightly worse). Thus, I feel these could fill out an article (though I do see this potentially being a point of contention).
  • pixel codes - appearing in NES Classics. All of the other stuff from the site has been split, but I'm lumping these in here due to a very specific question; what are these? I can't decide if they should redirect to KONG Letters or not, as (while they quite literally are letters that spell K-O-N-G) they have the added functionality of being a contest-entry-code-device-thing. As the other NES Classics elements fill out their articles, I believe this could as well - the question that I'm asking is if it should.

Additionally, I could potentially see the various books from the The Lab microsite being split, but I will cover that later as I believe that could be a slightly more controversial topic.
