Italics

Hey, welcome to the wiki! Keep in mind, when you're writing out titles of games, you have to italicize them. This is done by typing two apostrophes on either side of the title, for example ''Mario Kart Wii'' will become Mario Kart Wii. 17:30, 27 February 2017 (EST)

Images

Hey, before you keep uploading images any further, please be sure to format the {{aboutfile}} correctly and include the proper the categories. Here are some reminders to help you out:

Hello, GoombaBroadcast. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below. {{aboutfile |1=Subject of the image |2=Where you found the image |3=Artist |4=Describe edits, if any |5=Other versions (use file link) }} Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, GoombaBroadcast. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups: Images Audio/video files Company images Film images Game images Merchandise images Publication images System images Television series images Website images Company media files Film media files Game media files Merchandise media files Publication media files System media files Television series media files Website media files When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]] or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

I also noticed you aren't including your files on any pages, causing them to show up in Special:UnusedFiles. When you upload an image, please make sure it gets placed on a proper page. 22:25, 6 November 2017 (EST)

Categories

Just a quick reminder, to add a category type it like this: [[Category:Mario Kart 8 Images]] rather than this: {{Mario Kart 8 Images}} , the second one will add a non-existent template for Mario Kart 8 Images.

Upload Suggestion

I suggest not using your camera to take a picture of playing Mario Kart 8. You have the power all along to take a screenshot directly with your Wii U! Deletions

Only sysops can delete pages (including files). What you can do is tag images with {{delete}} (immediate deletion) or {{delete-request}} (room for discussion if the delete should happen or not). That is why :File:Orange fork npc.jpg is tagged with {{image-quality}}. It's a reminder for later to get it replaced. Anyone can then do it. The tag puts the image into Category:Images to be reuploaded with higher quality. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) ^{(Stats - Contribs)} 17:19, 6 March 2017 (EST)

RE: I need to ask you a favor

I can definitely do cyan Jibberjay. If you want to learn how to do this yourself, you need:

• Wii (I have not tested on Wii Family Edition, Wii Mini, or Wii U)
• Homebrew Channel
• CleanRip
• GCN/Wii disc(s) to copy (Super Mario Galaxy 2 in this case)
• USB Drive, NTFS formatted, with at least ~4.5GB space for each Wii disc (some discs require ~8GB, such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl). GCN games are ~1.5GB each disc.
• Dolphin (make sure your computer at least meets minimum system requirements for the smoothest experience on default settings, mine barely does)

This is how I emulate GCN/Wii. Best practices for Super Mario Wiki here. It also helps immensely if you had an Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller connected to your computer for smooth control and not a keyboard. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) ^{(Stats - Contribs)} 23:37, 9 June 2017 (EDT)

Put an equals sign (=) in between "image" and the file coding. Example:

Personal image reminder

You currently have too many personal images. Users are limited to a maximum of five personal images, which can be used on your user page and/or for a signature on talk pages (see the personal image policy for details). Please select the personal images you would like to keep and mark all others for deletion using the {{delete}} template. If you have not relinquished your extra images within one week of receiving this notice, five images will be selected for retention at random, and the rest will be deleted. If you continue uploading more images and exceeding the limit, then a warning will be issued.

You currently in violation of our personal image policy, as you have six personal images when only four is allowed.

If you absolutely must have extra images on your user page illustrating your interests, I suggest hotlinking images from an image hosting website such as imgur, tinypic, etc. onto your userspace so it doesn't count towards your limits. Mario Races Table

You've been editing your userpage quite a lot over the past couple of weeks, but it looks like you're putting something together as if it were your sandbox page (that's totally fine). Are you planning on putting this information somewhere? 14:49, 28 May 2018 (EDT)

Thing with Mario canon is it's kind of ambiguous. The main series are certainly canon, but it's not entirely clear if the Paper Mario, Mario Tennis, Mario & Luigi, etc. series are. I know Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) was putting together something similar before, but there isn't really a good place to put a large chart that encompasses several series like this. Maybe if it focused on one particular series instead? Just my two cents. 15:31, 28 May 2018 (EDT)

Categorizing

Hi, when invoking categories, make sure you use straight brackets ([[Category:Super Mario Odyssey Images]]) instead of curly brackets, as the latter transcludes the entire category page onto the page, rather than adding the page to said category. Thanks! ^(T|C) 07:29, 28 August 2018 (EDT)

Images from 3D All-Stars should not be uploaded over the original material. I realize it's mainly just a graphical enhancement, but the original material should remain intact. 13:19, September 16, 2020 (EDT)
