The 'Shroom Spotlight
Written by: RHG1951 (talk) and Technetium (talk)
Hello, all you readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.
As always, it is our civic duty to remind you to check out the Mario Awards presentations. There were some real bangers this year! With the public service announcement over with, let's move onto last month's focuses.
Once more, all six focuses have been completed! Power Flotzo (talk) took us for a ride by creating Roller Coaster (Super Mario Sunshine) and adding the missing information about Tostarena Town, SuperGamer18 (talk) added a history section to Penguin Suit with an anonymous user also adding its role in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Illuminoid (talk) got us a picture of an inactive Synthetic Sun, both The Real Color Splash Fan (talk) and Wildgoosespeeder (talk) stocked up on images for the Durian page, and Yoshi18 (talk) personally took a trip to Wuhu Island to confirm the statement on Maka Wuhu.
And now onto this month's focuses:
| Article | Category | Focuses |
|---|---|---|
| Mike Inglehart, the director of the first two Mario Strikers games, is currently the only director in the "People" navigation template without an article. Show that you know ball by writing his article. | ||
| As you may not know, the levels in Super Mario Land have unmarked checkpoints. Point being, we want you to find the ones in World 1-2. Being the second level of the game, it shouldn't be that hard to check. | ||
| In addition to heights, Chunky Kong also doesn't like images with obvious compression artifacts and improper resolutions. Quell most of his fears by taking a better screenshot. | ||
| With the breadth of games that still need an image and the majority of them requiring the games to be beaten, we'll need some super players to get this one done. We thank you if even one image gets uploaded. | ||
| We can't start the hootenanny without the band! Add both the normal and homestretch arrangements from Super Mario Party Jamboree so that we can all go square dancing. | ||
| Supposedly, the Red Coins in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island have a slightly larger hitbox when compared to the regular coins. Is it really true, or is it just a red herring? |
Now just before we leave you, we'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently 52 that need to be implemented, dating as far back as 2024, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed. Additionally, there are many unresolved discussions that we would love to see come to some sort of conclusion. Some might have already concluded and just need the template removed, others have been waiting for a response for years. There are also thousands of articles with unsourced foreign names. They are found within this category, so please help out and add sources for them.
Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact us on either RHG's talk page or Technetium's talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
