Fish n' Drips is a 1-vs-3 minigame in Mario Party 4.

Overview[edit]

Lakitu is briefly shown carrying a Cheep Cheep on a fishing rod, ready to drop it into a tank with enough water. The setting appears to be staged with cutout props, including bouncing gulls suspended by strings and waves moving in straight line.

The solo player and team each have a large tank shaped like a Cheep Cheep that they must fill with water. The lone player is in command of a pump, while the team of three must pass a bucket of water along. The lone player must input a sequence of six buttons to fill the tank, while each player on the team must press one button to move the bucket along. If the lone player makes a mistake on the sequence, they must restart from the beginning of the sequence. If a team member inputs the wrong button, they waste time by performing their "disappointed" animation or they look over their shoulder if they are the first one carrying the container. The first side to completely fill its tank wins, which is indicated when the tank is flashing and the tank is flapping its fins. Lakitu then drops the Cheep Cheep in the water. If neither side fills its tank within 60 seconds, the minigame ends in a draw.

Notes[edit]

  • The animation for the Cheep Cheep, after it is placed in the tank, does not smoothly loop, instead jumping from the final frame back to in the middle of swimming from being dropped into the tank.
