Variant of Terrapin

Terra Cottas are advanced versions of the Terrapin soldiers that appear in Bowser's Keep in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Their name comes from "Terrapin," but it is also a pun on the name of the ceramic terracotta. As well as having red shells, Terra Cottas further distinguish themselves from their green-shelled Terrapin brethren by wielding swords in battle. If Bowser is in battle, they, along with Pro Goombas and Malakoopas, will flee early in battle out of fear. If Bowser is not in battle, they may become confused from sensing his presence and attack themselves or other enemies.

A step up in terms of power compared to Terrapins, but at the end of the day, they're still Terrapins. Their red color doesn't make them three times as fast.
