World 8-6 is the sixth level of World 8 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It is similar to World 8-6 from New Super Mario Bros.

Layout[edit]

This level takes place in a volcano with rising magma. Propeller Mushrooms are the main power-up in this level.

The level begins near two ? Blocks, as well as two lava pits and a Lava Bubble. A trampoline allows the player to progress, where a Koopa Troopa and another lava pit with a Lava Bubble are located. Another trampoline leads to a ? Block and a brick structure above the lava. The player then encounters a lift with a trampoline on it, moving over a pit of lava with three Lava Bubbles. More trampolines are found, along with a P Switch that causes Blue Coins to appear. Trampolines are used to reach a Warp Pipe at the top of the area, leading to the midway point.

A Swinging Hammer allows the player to cross a pit of lava containing Lava Bubbles. More ? Blocks are found, followed by a swinging chain. A Red Ring is found, along with three more Lava Bubbles. Two more chains appear, allowing the player to reach a higher platform. Another Swinging Hammer then allows the player to reach a Warp Pipe, leading outside of the volcano. After a pit of lava, the pole is found.

Star Coins[edit]

The third Star Coin
  • Star Coin 1: Above the moving platform with the trampoline are two paths, and the first Star Coin is located in the left one. Mario and co. can either use the trampoline or a Propeller Suit to reach it.
  • Star Coin 2: The second Star Coin is located in the next set of split paths after the one with the first Star Coin, on the left. Mario and co. can either fly to it with a Propeller Suit, or wall kick to it.
  • Star Coin 3 (pictured): The third Star Coin is to the left of the exit Warp Pipe, surrounded by eight other coins. Mario and co. can again use a Propeller Suit to reach it, or jump on the Swinging Hammer as it swings to the left.
