A Silly QuestionEdit

If you call yourself "Lord Grammaticus", then why do you refer to individuals as "they"? You're confusing me, Mr. Grammar Lord.

Sorry if I sound so rude and disruptive. I'm just... curious.... and confused.   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 22:52, 19 February 2014 (EST)

It's not the accuracy that bothers me as much as the "they" makes me stumble when I read, especially when you used "he" before. :P   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 18:58, 24 February 2014 (EST)
You talking about that incident where Pinkie Pie was blocked, and you interchangeably used "he" and "they".   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 19:19, 24 February 2014 (EST)
Oh. In fact, it seems I only used "he" once. Likely a subconscious assumption that people wouldn't lose track based on a change in pronouns that I didn't realize until you pointed it out. Hm.
At any rate, you haven't been rude at all: as I said before, my consistency with pronouns tends to slip occasionally. :B   Lord G. matters.   19:22, 24 February 2014 (EST)

Why the hell did you remove my Metroid II Return of Samus on Super Mario Sunshine page especially when Bowser Jr clams Peach is his mama
The preceding unsigned comment was added by 198.13.205.183 (talk).

Because it's not notable, two different characters mistaking two other characters for their mothers does not a reference make.   Lord G. matters.

No, I'm not familiar with it. Yeah, I didn't appreciate the small edit war in my talk page. :(   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 21:01, 3 March 2014 (EST)

I was trying to scale down images that TrickyMario gave to me (or remove the URLs that generate large images) but he undid it. Then, other users got involved by undoing TrickyMario's edits. I don't know, but I think some users think it's okay for them to spam images on my talk page (or other users) because I do it (although it's never over-the-top; I've done over-the-top spam YEARS ago, but I don't think it's really necessary today). I wish people understand my way of doing things, but it's not like I'm advocating spam or anything. I just do it because some other users like it, but they have to ask for it first.   It's me, Mario! Satellaview magazineEdit

You've never heard? Oh, man. You'll be scarred for life. We cover this virtual magazine. It's called Shitamachi Ninjo Gekijo. I was surprised when I first saw it. Nintendo is not for children. Lord Falafel (talk) 01:13, August 27, 2019 (EDT)

News flash: I'm well aware of the magazine's existence and the crude humor, I'm not sheltered. My reaction is because you seem to have a hilariously skewed view of what constitutes "coverage" of a subject, not to mention your rationale for using it as an argument for allowing adult content is just... well, I've seen old umbrellas that've held more water. --  Lord G. matters.   01:15, August 27, 2019 (EDT)

What does that mean? Lord Falafel (talk) 01:17, August 27, 2019 (EDT)

It means "this 'childhood ruined' narrative is impossibly stale", "one mention of a few characters in a virtual publication does not equal coverage of that publication", and "your choice of argument for allowing adult content is incredibly flawed, both in its basis and its presentation", among various other things. --  Lord G. matters.   01:23, August 27, 2019 (EDT)

Regarding darkness and PiTEdit

Eh, it's dark before Elder Princess Shroob shows up, Toadwood Forest is IMO the most disturbing part of the game and it's one of the first areas visited. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:06, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

Oh right, Toadwood "let's literally suck everyone dry" Forest.

That deal was very much a personal opinion thing, and it helps that I haven't played the game. :B I might amend that when I'm not preoccupying myself with other stuff. --  Lord G. matters.   01:09, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

IndecencyEdit

That is the problem, these days has nothing decent. Movies, series and games with content from great appeal that does not care about morality. This generation follows this kind of apology: immoderate, unethical and disrespectful.

ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 15:51, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

"This generation"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H47ow4_Cmk0 --  Lord G. matters.   16:02, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

That's why these days nobody wants to be around anyone. Any disrespectful attitude is impossible to be nice to someone.

ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 17:21, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

Yeah, it's a shame that no one wants to talk to people because of curse words on a wiki. Why can't it be like the old days, where everyone ignored each other using newspapers, we had wholesome movies like Rambo: First Blood, Robocop and Alien, and Reagan singlehandedly shafted an entire community so hard that they want to use his grave as a gender-neutral bathroom?
...seriously, do you hear yourself right now? You wanna talk respect, start with respecting my intelligence. --  Lord G. matters.   16:34, September 21, 2019 (EDT)
Yeah, the only one being disrespectful is you right now, for freaking out over profanity on a wiki. It's not the end of the world. Doomhiker (talk)  16:40, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

What I mean is that everything will be lost because of it. It is not about religion or apology, it is about character.

ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 17:21, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

And by constantly removing dissenting opinions, you're proving that you have a noticeable lack of character, on top of trying to inflate this into something more important than it actually is. Just take Doc's advice and quit while you're behind. --  Lord G. matters.   17:16, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

Enough you too!!! ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 18:20, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

I'm not inversing any values. Look, if you don't like profanity, ok. But don't treat it like it's the end of the world. Don't try to censor stuff just because you personally don't like it. Don't over exaggerate this petty thing. Not try to censor other's opinions by removing them just because they disagree with you and are making arguments. Don't try to pretend that the past was a perfect, pure time. Please. Let's all drop this conversation, because it will soon turn into courtesy reminders. Doomhiker (talk)  17:21, September 21, 2019 (EDT)
Seconded with gusto. If we're at the point of tampering with talk pages, then it's clear this is well beyond the "talking past each other" stage. --  Lord G. matters.   17:24, September 21, 2019 (EDT)

Regarding the "Bowsette" edit summary and all of thatEdit

I'm the person who made the Peachette page, and it was visited an obscene amount during the period that was popular, so I sometimes feel a little guilty over that. I guess. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:13, September 22, 2019 (EDT)

That's slightly more understandable, but still rather silly. Nothing you could do about that anyway (yay hindsight bias!) so it's probably not worth still being hung up over it. --  Lord G. matters.   17:14, September 22, 2019 (EDT)
Yeah, I'm long over it, the edit summary was more relief that this should have definite closure now. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:21, September 22, 2019 (EDT)

Re: KuchukaEdit

I don't know where this message will show up and I am sorry about not knowing anything about editing wikipedia. I don't have any proof that a Kuchucka can't be defeated by a TNT barrel but do you have any proof that they can? It seems like all of the levels where Kuchucka's appear in don't have any TNT barrels.

Media filesEdit

When we have music bars on our wiki that play the tracks when we push the play button, where do we get that audio? Lord Falafel (talk) 20:52, September 30, 2019 (EDT)

Plus, you can download YouTube videos and if the original gets deleted, you can just reupload it and tell many friends to reupload reuploads of the reupload. Lord Falafel (talk) 20:54, September 30, 2019 (EDT)

You act as if I'm somehow not aware of this. My point in removing the link is that, besides it being "unprofessional" to be seen as potentially endorsing piracy (not that I personally care myself, but I do believe the Wiki has a thing about linking to certain things), we already have a valid source for the track list. As for the music samples we play, they're usually just that - samples, not a rip of the entire album. --  Lord G. matters.   20:58, September 30, 2019 (EDT)

Doppelganger ConfusionsEdit

I see where you are coming from with those characters not making sense as doppelgangers since they are their own character but simply sharing little traits to the Mario Bros and possibly paralleling at them too. The reason why I did it for the Massif Bros. because was I was just trying following the same idea with the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga characters. But since the others should not be qualifying I can certainly get them removed since they are not types of clones at all it was quite confusing for me which is technically my fault. gamermakerguy

Yeah, no, I get what tripped you up, and I might've come of as more vitriolic than I actually was. The idea with the doppelganger categories is that the character in questions significantly resemble who they're a doppelganger of, lest the point be lost (though I am aware the "paper thin disguise" trope is a thing, and there's cases like Bowser Memory ML where the resemblance isn't as exact but still v. clearly intended).
It's pretty evident that characters like Big Massif and his crew, as well as other pairs like the Hammerhead Bros., are meant to play off the sibling dynamic that Mario and Luigi have (red elder v. green younger, stocky v. thinner, etc. etc.), and of course that's also deliberate. They're parallels that draw attention to the game's mechanical and storyline focus on the Bros. and their bond. (hell, I've noticed it with the bloody Junior Shrooboid!) Parallels do not always a doppelganger make, though - the potential for imitating or impersonating the latter is a big distinction, and besides that, I'm just generally wary of falling into the habit of overcategorization. Not that it's an unreasonable mistake at all, mind you.

Anyhow, I'm glad I could possibly help clear that up, and I appreciate you reaching out to me (incidentally as I was prepping a post on the Big Massif article's talk page, haha). --  Lord G. matters.   00:59, October 4, 2019 (EDT)

Spiky SnifitEdit

My current situationEdit

I’ve been working with Mid188 with these gauntlet artworks, he was uploading them while I was putting them on their pages. So I said that so that hopefully someone else could do that instead during my absence since I know the majority most likely won’t read my userpage. Mario Sakuraba (talk) 14:15, October 10, 2019 (EDT)

"Chill"Edit

After you see it being referred to as a remake so many times on this wiki you kinda start to become frustrated. Your specialization is rewriting, right? Then you should know the feeling. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 13:32, October 27, 2019 (EDT)

It's probably a leftover from the way the articles were written on DK Wiki that wasn't immediately changed when their information was ported here. (shrug) It's dumb, but I at least get it. --  Lord G. matters.   13:34, October 27, 2019 (EDT)

RequestEdit

Hello, I would greatly appreciate if you reviewed this section I just wrote for the "Professor E. Gadd's Research Journal" page. I'm mostly concerned with the coherence and rhythm of my writing. I should mention I used past tense because this is how the story is presented in the journal itself, though if you disagree with this decision you can correct it. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 13:26, November 1, 2019 (EDT)

RedirectsEdit

Hi, I don't know how it was before your hiatus, but currently, we plain and simply do not link to redirects in mainspace at all. The main reason seems to be that if a page is moved again, the double redirect will simply lead to the redirect page. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:56, March 1, 2020 (EST)

Fair 'nuff. Thanks for the info. --  Lord G. matters.   15:14, March 1, 2020 (EST)

Hello. I am currently expanding the Yoshi's New Island level pages and I am taking inspiration from your own recorded rewrites, specifically those that regard level pages. It would be helpful if you offered me some feedback on this write-up. Thankie you. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 11:17, May 4, 2020 (EDT)

I'll try to follow a less walkthrough-prone style. Thank you again! -- KOOPA CON CARNE 11:52, May 8, 2020 (EDT)
Gotta say that the reason I came to you for feedback is that you explain things in a way that I can read them absent-mindedly and still coherently remember the ideas that I went through. I must admit I'm impressed. Do you usually manage to write everything in one sitting or do you spend some time playing around with the phrasing? I'm talking about more detailed information such as character descriptions and such. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 18:24, May 8, 2020 (EDT)
