Mega Goomba's Ladder Leap is a boss minigame appearing in Mario Party 10. It takes place in Mushroom Park and pits players against a Mega Goomba.

Introduction[edit]

The minigame takes place in a forest clearing with some ladders leading up to a wooden platform as the Mega Goomba drops down from the sky and surprises the players, thus starting the minigame.

Gameplay[edit]

Players must climb the ladders up to the platform, after which they can jump on the Mega Goomba's head, getting one point per stomp. Players can jump on the boss's head three times before it forcibly shakes them off, forcing them to begin the process again.

Initially, the Mega Goomba slowly paces back and forth on the lower level, but Waddlewings periodically glide between the trees on the side of the stage, passing over the ladders at a certain level. If the players touch the Mega Goomba or a gliding Waddlewing, they lose one point.

When the Mega Goomba loses half of its health, it moves more quickly than before, making it harder to line up a jump. Additionally, Waddlewings attack more frequently, forcing players to use caution when climbing the ladders.

The minigame ends once the Mega Goomba's HP drops to zero—which happens on the 75th and final hit. The player who lands the final blow gains an additional three points. After the Mega Goomba is defeated, the result screen is shown with a sum of points, penalties, and bonuses. The player with the most points overall wins the minigame.

Ending[edit]

After gaining the last hit, the Mega Goomba falls onto its back and then explodes.

Controls[edit]
