The objective of the game is for each player to beat the other one, as in all other Duel mini-games. Here, the player must get to the other side of a wide, and long hole by carefully walking across a tilting bridge. The player must be careful, because if he or she falls off the bridge, a [[Lakitu]] has carry him or her, losing valuable time. Once the player gets to the middle of the bridge, he or she reaches a checkpoint, meaning that if he or she falls again, the Lakitu would carry him or her to there instead of the starting place. There are quite a few shortcuts that the player can take to get through the game quicker. The player who gets to the end of the bridge first wins.
