Hi all, welcome to March's edition of anagrams! This month, I've selected some Karts (and technically, other vehicles) to rebuild into anagrams for you! Hopefully solving them won't tyre you out too much. If you are tired of car puns though, you could suggest a theme for next issue on my talk page or in a PM to me on the forums, as well as any anagrams you think I might be able to use. The chequered flag for puns hasn't been waved yet though, so get revved up to take these anagrams over the finish line!

How it works...
Basically, this puzzle consists of solving the anagrams. Each month has a specific theme, which will give you a clue about what sort of words or phrases the anagrams will be. I've also included the boxes that the anagrams will fit into, so you'll be able to tell how many words it will solve to be and how many letters will be in each word, which should give you a hand too. You'll also notice that within each set of boxes, one of the squares is a ? Block. As you solve each anagram, note down the letter which appear on the ? Blocks, and if you can solve all of the anagrams, you'll also get a bonus anagram to solve from completing all of the others. I've included the letter configuration for this one at the bottom too, just to give you an extra helping hand. Best of luck!

Make sure to silence your cell phone, because you're at the next showing of Crosswords, presented by MarioMorty! Welcome one and all to this theatrical spectacular of a puzzle, as this month, with the Super Mario Galaxy Movie just around the corner, you'll be taking a deep dive into the careers of the cast of the upcoming movie. You'll be figuring out previous works and things relating to them. And, for an extra challenge, you will not be directly given the names of the cast for the most part. Happy solving, and make sure to check back next month once you've been able to view the galactic spectacle for yourself!

Hiding Koopa

Written by: Waluigi Time (talk)

Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Welcome back to Hiding Koopa, where I'm going to finally get to the game that I've been putting off slightly too long. That's right, it's the game that introduces Baby Waluigi, and also you play tennis or whatever. I've personally never had much interest in Mario Tennis myself, but hey, Baby Waluigi! And he doesn't send people to therapy like the version over in BJAODN, probably. Anyway, five Koopas are hiding in this artwork from Mario Tennis Fever. Good luck!

Pixel Personas

Written by: Sparks (talk)

Welcome to another issue of Pixel Personas! We're now in March, and we have three new characters hiding behind pixels. Let's see if you can identify them!

New to Pixel Personas? Here's what it's about: Pixel Personas is a game played in three rounds. In each round, I'll show an image of a Super Mario character (this includes enemies), but they're all pixelated! You (the readers) must analyze and identify who these characters are. Each round is tougher than the last, with more lesser-known characters and larger pixels, making it more difficult to tell who it is. After you make your guess, click/tap onhover over the card the image is on to flip it over and reveal the character!

No theme this month, just three random characters. It should still be fun, right? Go for it!

Connections

Written by: Roserade (talk)

Greetings, beautiful 'Shroom readers! Welcome back to another edition of Connections! Thought I was in the clear after not needing your help last month... turns out, I just completely missed the mess in the back of the cabinet! Let's grab those folders and get sorting!

How it works:
Below is a table of sixteen different words, all of them with some sort of connection to the Mario series. These words correlate in sets of four, and it's up to you to figure out which words belong to a set! Work through the grid and decide which words are connected. Once you think you have the answer, check against the provided answers. If you get stuck along the way, feel free to utilize the clues. There's only one correct answer, so be on the lookout for words that feel like they might fit in more than one category. Good luck!

Hightail Cove Icicle Shiver
? Throwback Flip Freezy
Mushroom Coin Freezie Spade
Mute Block Flipswitch Fireball
Clue 1

Start with "Hightail"

Clue 2

Have you tamed the concrete jungle?

Clue 3

You need another clue? Hmm, let me consult my panelists...

Answer
  1. Hightail, Cove, Throwback, Freezy: words found in Super Mario Galaxy 2 galaxy names
  2. Shiver, Mushroom, Mute, Block: ___ City
  3. ?, Flip, Spade, Flipswitch: ___ Panel
  4. Icicle, Coin, Freezie, Fireball: items found in Mario Bros.

How did you do? Did you figure out the connections? Thanks for playing!

Hex Puzzle

Written by: Aomaf (talk)

Hello to the March issue of Hex Puzzle! Let's get started!

How It Works
You need to use hex numbers to decode texts (or, if you are too lazy to decode the text yourself, copy the hex to a hex editor like HxD). When doing it manually, look for repeated hex values and guess at what letters they might be, or fill them in using letters you decoded from previous puzzles. For instance, 4D 61 72 69 6F 20 61 6E 64 20 4C 75 69 67 69 is "Mario and Luigi" or 53 6F 6E 69 63 20 61 6E 64 20 54 61 69 6C 73 is "Sonic and Tails". With these together, you can guess that 4D is a capital M.
Hex Value Table
Use this table to translate hex values manually. The column on the left correlates to the first digit of the value, while the top row correlates to the second digit of the value. As an example, "41" would translate to A on this table.

Talking Flowers (also spelled in lowercase) are characters that debut in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Their design is reminiscent of the angel's trumpet and devil's trumpet flowers.

Did you decode the texts? As always, thanks for playing!! And maybe see you all for the next Fun Stuff issue!

Where in the Marioverse is Carmen Sandiego?

Written by: FunkyK38 (talk)

HOW TO PLAY

Each issue, you will be given a case to solve and clues to use to help you find the solution! Use your Mario knowledge to crack the case!

You will begin each case at the scene of the crime, and you will be given three clues from passerby as to where the next hot spot is and what game it’s from. Using your knowledge of Mario games and the Super Mario Wiki, figure out where the crook is and go track them down! There are four locations each round: the crime scene (1) at the start, two locations (2 and 3) with clues, and the hideout for the crook of the month (4). Answers for locations will be given with the corresponding round, for example, the clues from the crime scene will lead you to location 2, and once you open the spoiler bubbles for location 2, you will be given the correct answer. You can open the clues for each location in any order you’d like, but be careful! You may encounter an incorrect clue that could throw you off the case!

Clues offered will give you a hint either about the next location or the game it’s in. Unlike a regular Carmen Sandiego game, you do not have to collect information about the crook you are tracking down.

Challenge round (optional):

-Find all locations and games correctly in two minutes or less

-Find all locations and games correctly without using the rest of the Wiki for help

They're standing in the way of art!

"Gumshoe, you're in high demand this time! We have three requests for your service, and they all revolve around the same case- Carmen seems to be investing in crafting! We received a call from the Mushroom Kingdom's most skilled glass artist stating that his lucky tool set has been stolen from his workshop, including his prized possession- his 15-year-old soldering iron. Without that iron, he can't create the beautiful pieces of stained glass that are in high demand right now. Two of his clients have also reported this theft to us and requested you as the lead- Peach and Bowser! Peach's Castle has several massive stained glass installations, and she wants to keep her artisan in business. Bowser, on the other hand, is a new client in progress- he ordered a small piece for his chambers in order to test the strength of the stained glass in his territory, make sure the lava doesn't melt it. He wants to protect his investment and receive the art that he paid for. Neither of them know that the other has put in a request, and your retainer fee has already been met- so it's time to get to work, gumshoe! Find those tools and let the master get back to creating art!"

The artisan is very grateful to have his tools back, and he's sent a small gift for you- a small glass piece that he was able to cobble together with the tools he had left. Peach and Bowser, however, have both sent in your reward money for returning the tools, and they have rewarded you handsomely. We've sent the money to your account- don't spend it all in one place! For now, return to HQ and get started on your case write-up, and we'll let you know when your next case comes in."

Hello there, 'Shroom readers. It's your monthly Musical Quiz!

I'll keep it brief this month, since I also have to carefully monitor Waluigi Time and Sparks's fight. Choosing animals to have around the 'Shroom office is of utmost importance, so I'm not going to allow some backstage deals or biased notions to happen while my back is turned. Wondering what I am talking about? 'Shroomfest of course! Please, join in!

Okay, shilling done. Another thing from my to-do list accomplished!

Anyway, back to topic, the goal here remains the same: Can you guess which game the following soundtracks come from?

Have fun!

  • 1-3 points - 'Shroom Novice

If you managed to answer every question correctly without using any hints, then congratulations! You are a 'Shroom Master!
