The 'Shroom:Issue 225/The 'Shroom Spotlight
The 'Shroom Spotlight
Written by: RHG1951 (talk) and Technetium (talk)
Hello, all you readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.
Can you believe it, guys? Christmas! Just a week five days away! We hope that this month hasn't been too stressful for you, and if it has been, let us serve as a place where you can relax. We even have the perfect gift: the special return of ten listed focuses! Sure, it's on you to get them done, but it's the thought that matters, right? Before we get to the unwrapping portion of the gift, let's go over the focuses from last month.
Once again, progress has been stellar with five completed focuses. Power Flotzo (talk) made dreams come true by creating the article for Dream Island (as well as Winter Island as a bonus), L151 (talk) uploaded a properly sized File:Mount Bighill.png, and ThePowerPlayer (talk) fixed the scope of Shell Toss and found the citations for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, just in time for its appearance as the main page's featured article too! Although not the page's focus, Scrooge200 (talk) further improved Shell Toss by adding an image of Shell Shot from Paper Mario: The Origami King. In addition to that, Green Star (talk), ThePowerPlayer, and L151 all added images to Chestnut. Unfortunately, we still can't locate any of the Fire Bros on the Mario Kart World map.
And now onto this month's focuses:
| Article | Category | Focuses |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing like winding down in the wintertime with a warm treat, or is it a cold treat? The name of this Mario & Luigi: Brothership item doesn't make that aspect clear. We won't ever know unless an article for it is created. | ||
| For how large moose are, this article is anything but that. In particular, the mission table is missing most of its information. Make it your mission to fill out the empty cells. | ||
| The dog may be out of this world, but its associated article sure isn't. It's time to dig deeper and see if there's more to this company than just the compilation arcade cabinet when it comes to the Super Mario franchise. | ||
| Here's a once in a blue moon occurrence: instead of prose, we're looking for wikicode to be rewritten. With the way the key and routine tables are coded, their colors disappear when the site is set to dark mode. Fix it so they stay spectacular, even in the dark. | ||
| ...is waiting for this article to be revamped so that the arrangements are given their own section. Do be quick, it's impolite to keep someone waiting. | ||
| She may not be the Lumas' mama, but she deserves love all the same. You can show that love by adding images of the murals. They're like the pages of Rosalina's Storybook, but way larger. | ||
| This render is most unbecoming for royalty. Alongside the missing fuzz, the Honey Queen is missing her wings. Not to belabor the point or drone on, but these issues should be fixed. | ||
| Speaking of royalty, this image of the Penguin King isn't all that great either. The source's effort to make it transparent was a bit haphazard, so a new scan is most likely needed. He does need to look his best for the premiere of the sequel (there are space penguins in Super Mario Galaxy, he has a chance to appear). | ||
| As you may know, KAOS is actually the creation of K. Rool. But, did he create KAOS while in the Northern Kremisphere? This statement has gone through many citations in the past, but none of them really supported the claim, so this might be a case where it has to be removed outright. | ||
| The article claims a variant containing a spiked ball exists within the game's files, but TCRF doesn't have an object like that in its documentation. Did TCRF slip up and miss this, or is this wiki on thin ice for including a falsehood? |
Now just before we leave you, we'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently 39 that need to be implemented, dating as far back as 2021, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed. Additionally, there are many unresolved discussions that we would love to see come to some sort of conclusion. Some might have already concluded and just need the template removed, others have been waiting for a response for years. There are also thousands of articles with unsourced foreign names. They are found within this category, so please help out and add sources for them.
Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact us on either RHG's talk page or Technetium's talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
