Super Jumps[1] are a move that can be performed in Yoshi's Safari after stepping on a jump zone.
When walking on a jump zone, the word "JUMP" will flash on screen. By pressing the CURSOR button on the Super Scope (or the button on the controller in 2-Player Mode) when it appears, Yoshi will perform a Super Jump, which extends the distance of the jump, granting him the ability to jump over the incoming obstacles.
In the Super Mario Kodansha manga, Yoshi performs two Super Jumps thanks to Kinoppe placing the jump zones: one to reach a Lakitu and the second to take care of the Kame Hōdai.
