Heathcliff & Super Mario Brothers[2] is the second volume in a series of five promotional DVDs released by DIC Entertainment that were included in various General Mills cereals during the summer of 2004.[1] The only episode from the Super Mario cartoons included in this DVD is "Sneaky Lying Cheating Giant Ninja Koopas" from The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 as the other two included episodes of this release are from Heathcliff.

- Although this is a DVD release for The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, the Super Mario Bros. DVD menu utilizes assets from the other shows:
- The main menu logo for Super Mario Bros. appears to be based on The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, and the movie theater environments originate from the home media releases The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!: Mario's Monster Madness, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!: Action Adventures, and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!: Mario's Greatest Movie Moments.
- The background of the Super Mario Bros. previews menu depicts the Enchanted Forest, a location from the Super Mario World television series episode "Ghosts 'R' Us".
Errors[edit]
- On the advertisement promoting the DVDs on the back of General Mills cereal boxes, the episode is mislabeled as "Sneaky Lying Cheating Giant Ninja Koopa"; this is corrected on the DVD's enclosed sleeve packaging.
- On the Super Mario Bros. scene selection menu, there is a leftover white background between Mario's body and left arm and Luigi's body and right arm.
- This also occurs on the Super Mario Bros. previews menu, albeit with Luigi's artwork mirrored.
