Lakitu Kings are enemies found in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. They resemble a standard Lakitu with a gold crown, a gold shell and gold stars on their cloud. When Bowser gets into a fight with a Flifit or a bunch of Flifits, the Lakitu King might appear on the top screen. If Bowser inhales it using his Vacuum ability, Mario and Luigi will be able to fight it. The Lakitu King will attack by throwing golden Spiny Eggs at the Mario Bros. They will also sometimes throw Coins for them to collect. If the Lakitu King throws the item overhand, it will be bounce off the ground and above the Mario Bros. If the Mario Bros. do not defeat the Lakitu King within a few turns, it will fly off, causing Bowser to cough it up, and fly away. Another variant of the Lakitu King is the Glam Lakitu.

Lakitu Kings return in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, where they additionally are found as enemies in the Bowser Jr.'s Journey mode. Lakitu Kings are flying troopers, and they are strong against Spinies.

Bowser Jr.'s Journey profile: A rare Lakitu that wears a crown. Rumored to act especially self-important against Spinies.
