World 2-1 is the first level of World 2 in Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.

Layout

The player starts on a path that leads into a bridge with five Koopa Paratroopas jumping towards the player, and in the middle ? Block above the bridge is a power-up. Across a pit is a flight of stairs with a row of Brick Blocks above, the middle of which containing a Super Star. Next are a series of pipes with Piranha Plants in them, with the far left being a Warp Pipe to an underground area with Coins, exiting out to the second-from-the-right Warp Pipe on the surface. Over the platform afterwards are two Hidden Blocks, the first of which will allow the player to reach the second, which contains a power-up. Next are two horizontally moving lifts with a Super Spring between them. In the next area are two rows of Brick Blocks, and directly to the right of the pipe are two Hidden Blocks the player can use to find a Beanstalk in one of the upper blocks; the Beanstalk will take the player to Coin Heaven, which will drop the player near the rows of Brick Blocks at the end. In the left-most ? Block ahead is a Poison Mushroom, followed by a Super Spring before a series of narrow platforms over a large pit, which has a couple of Koopa Paratroopas floating over them. Over a high platform afterward is a Hidden Block with a 1-Up Mushroom, followed by a flight of stairs with Goombas walking down them that lead to the Goal Pole.
