Gyro for the Gold (Rolling Racer in the British English version) is a General minigame in Mario Party: Island Tour. The American English name is a pun on the phrase "go for the gold." This minigame controls similarly to the Star Ball sections in Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel. Besides the similar gameplay, the music is covered in this minigame and it speeds up or slows down depending on the movements made.
Introduction[edit]
The camera shows the goal (a castle rooftop with four Goal Poles), then scrolls backwards to the competitors, showing the obstacles in the process.
Gameplay[edit]
Players are on balls, which they must roll to the finish line, passing through the obstacle course. The Nintendo 3DS gyro sensor is used to roll the ball, hence the game's American name.
