- “What's going on? This is a disgrace! This is a Kong game, not a Kremling game... I don't see your name on the title page. My boys will put a stop to this insolence..”
- —Cranky, Diddy Kong Pilot (2003)
Team Krem is the second of three teams available in the unpublished 2003 build of Diddy Kong Pilot, made up of four Kremlings: Kritter, Klap Trap, Klump, and K. Rool, most of which have highly specialized stats that are high in some respects but low in others. They are unlocked for play after completing Team Kong's grand prix, and are the intermediate difficulty mode, featuring the Dixie Cup, the Diddy Cup, the Funky Cup, and the Donkey Cup. All the tracks in their Grand Prix cups are reversed compared to Team Kong 's, as well as featuring its members as the bosses. When playing through as them, Cranky openly insults them and promises Team Kong will defeat them, becoming more worried every time Team Krem has a victory. When they beat all four of the bosses, Cranky reveals that in doing so they have won the right to the title screen, which is now labeled "Kremling Pilot."
Team Krem's title screen shows the same background as Temple Heat, with a blue-tinted rocky area intermixed with a few structures, a red sky, and bubbling lava at the bottom. Their menu theme shows a wrinkled red texture with rows of yellow spikes pointing downward from it, possibly based on scales or teeth. The team's logo features the world "Krem" in thick font with a lumpy green texture and red shadow over a horizontally oriented set of metallic blue wings, which also appears on their title screen.
In the finalized Banjo-Pilot, it is replaced with the Grunty GP, which is Gruntilda's attempt at making a grand prix after the Bottles GP is finished, and features Gruntilda taking Cranky's role of speaking to the player characters between races, which previously went to Bottles. Like with the Team Krem grand prix, all the tracks are reversed, though they also have sickly color tinting added to them. However, due to the game lacking the team aspect, it is not character-exclusive, and in fact the corresponding unlockable characters (Humba Wumba, Jolly Roger, Klungo, and Gruntilda herself) are instead acquired individually by defeating them as bosses in either the Bottles GP or the Grunty GP followed by purchasing the ability to use them from Cheato. All the cups are named after "spooky" objects fitting the witch theming: the Pumpkin Cup, the Cauldron Cup, the Skull Cup, and the Broomstick Cup.
