Steamy Swoop is the first race course in the unpublished 2003 build of Diddy Kong Pilot, as well as the first course of the Klap Trap Kup. The reversed version seen when playing as Team Krem is instead called Monkey Rift and is part of the Dixie Cup. The course takes place in a jungle with DK's Tree House visible in the background to the north, as well as several palm trees as both obstacles and background decoration.

Layout[edit]

The course is made up of four right turns, the first being fairly sharp, the second being gentle, and the last two being rounded 90°. After the first turn, there are some large trees in the path, and after the second turn, a small side-path runs parallel to the main one. There is also a narrow portion between the third and fourth turns.

Item locations[edit]

Target Balloons[edit]

Monkey Rift does not feature a Target Balloon.

In the finalized Banjo-Pilot, it is renamed Spiral Mountain, the starting and tutorial location of Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge. The background is also changed to depict Spiral Mountain and the surrounding areas as they appear in the first two games (with the undamaged ground from the first and the damaged entrance to Grunty's Lair from the second), with the tree obstacles also being changed to resemble the trees in the original location. Its reversed version, Spiral Mountain R, is given a pink tint with an olive-green sky.

In the 2004 voxel engine prototype of Banjo-Pilot, Spiral Mountain remains the first course, though it is depicted as a square shape. There is a bridge over a small river near the starting point, a small lake with a tall island forming a brief split in the path on the second corner, some savannah-style trees along the following straightaway, a rocky stump-filled area in the third corner, and a tall yellow grassy area on the fourth corner. The reversed version is purple-tinted and starts at the lake with the split path.
