Variant of Red Balloon

Target Balloons[1] are objects in the unpublished 2003 iteration of Diddy Kong Pilot. One floats above each track, drifting up out of the way if gotten too close to. By shooting it successfully, a special Zipper appears; red Target Balloons spawn a chain of pink-and-magenta Zippers that provide an extra-powerful boost if all successfully gone through, and the rarer yellow Target Balloons spawn a yellow-and-black Zipper that automatically boosts the player all the way to the starting/finish line. The red ones float in place, but the yellow ones move back-and-forth to make them more difficult to hit.

Each cup has a single yellow Target Balloon. A Target Balloon appears in each standard race course, but they only appear in half of the reversed versions of the courses, with two of four for each cup. As such, every reverse cup has one red and one yellow Target Balloon.

Both types are replaced by Glowbos in the published Banjo-Pilot release, only appearing after purchasing the ability to collect them from Cheato. The red balloons are replaced with the pink Glowbos that appear in Banjo-Tooie, while the yellow balloons are replaced with green-tinted Glowbos.
