Gate Key-pers is a 4-Player minigame in Super Mario Party Jamboree. Its name is a pun on the word "gatekeepers," which are people or organizations that prevent access to resources, information, or services.

Overview[edit]

The players stand in front of three locked gates, looking scared. Suddenly, three Peepas appear and make five keys appear where they stood.

The minigame begins by determining the order in which the players will play. During a player's turn, they must choose one of five differently shaped keys—square, circle, triangle, hexagon, and diamond—and one of three gates to try to unlock. If the key and gate combination is incorrect, two Peepas appear in front of the player, the key is placed where it was before, and the player moves to the back of the line. If the combination is correct, the player goes through the gate, which is then replaced with a brick wall. If a player takes too long to pick a key and gate, they frown and move to the back of the line, wasting their turn. If a key has been confirmed not to unlock any of the remaining gates, a Peepa comes and takes it away. The first player to correctly guess a key and gate combination wins the minigame; the minigame continues until either the second and third players guess correctly as well or after three minutes have passed. If three minutes pass and no one has guessed a gate correctly, all players will do their losing animations.
