Sandwiched is a 4-Player minigame in Super Mario Party Jamboree.

The minigame has an Endless variant that can be played in the Free Play mode in Minigame Bay, in which high scores can be recorded and compared with other players online.

Overview

The minigame opens with the players inside a giant picnic basket, where they are surprised by a massive sandwich that falls from above.

The players must avoid being crushed by the falling sandwiches, of which there are four types: egg, ham, caprese, and cucumber. The ham and caprese sandwiches are twice as tall as the egg and cucumber ones. Players can jump on one another to slow them down. The last player remaining, or any players who survive for 60 seconds, wins. If all players are crushed at the same time, the minigame ends in a tie.

In the Endless version, the time limit is replaced with a timer that counts how long the player has lasted, and sandwiches will fall faster as the minigame progresses. Achieving a record of 40 or more seconds in the Endless mode will unlock the "Sandwiches Are for Picnics" achievement. Like with other Endless minigames, the maximum recorded time is 9:59:99.

Naming

"Sandwiched" is a pun on the figurative term referring to being stuck between two other things in an uncomfortable position.

• There exists a glitch where, if the area is already stacked up with sandwiches but one grid is not, the lowest sandwich will despawn (so other sandwiches that fall out of the sky can spawn) and if the player happens to jump on it at that exact time, they will fall in the hole and there is a high chance that, almost immediately afterward, another sandwich will fall on the despawned sandwich, trapping the player but not crushing them, allowing them to set a time of 9:59:99.
