White Yoshi

A White Yoshi in Yoshi's Island DS.

White Yoshis are a variety of Yoshi that appeared first in Yoshi's Story. They are usually unlockable. They, like the Black Yoshis, can eat things that normal ones cannot, like Peppers. One can be found in Stage 3-2: The Tall Tower. White Yoshis appear in Yoshi's Island DS, playable in the Extra stage in each world.

In Mario Power Tennis, Yoshi can change colors every time he performs a Rolling Egg Return, provided the player has completed the Flower Cup with any character. One of the colors that Yoshi can turn is white. In Yoshi's Story, they can be found in Pages 3-2 and 3-3.

Abilities and Features (Yoshi's Story)

• Like the Black Yoshi, White Yoshis can eat things that the other Yoshis wouldn't like. This includes red peppers and Black Shy Guys.
• White Yoshis can fire eggs that explode when their happy meter is full.
• White Yoshis can flutter further when they're a Super Happy Yoshi.
• While the Black Yoshi has the lowest pitched voice, White Yoshi has the highest pitched voice.

Appearance

In Yoshi's Story, White Yoshi debuts with white skin and cyan shoes with a red saddle. This design has gone unchanged. They were also in Yoshi's Island DS. They were unlockable by getting a perfect 800 in a world when they were then able to be played in the unlockable course.

• White and Black Yoshis are the only Yoshis in Yoshi's Story that enjoy all the fruit, even the hot peppers.
• In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it is possible to obtain a White Yoshi Kid from the egg that hatches in the Glitz Pit.
