If the lamp lands right-side up, a small cloud will rise from the lamp's spout. Wario can jump onto the cloud and use it as a platform to jump on top of Denpū's head, his only weak point. Upon reaching a sufficient height, the cloud becomes a miniature Denpū, which constantly moves back and forth across the boss area and drops fireballs. This enemy can be defeated with a simple jump attack. Wario must jump upon Denpū six times to beat him.

Denpū, also known as The Genie[1] is the last boss in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Denpū is a neutral character, only obeying the wish of the person who rubbed his lamp. He is summoned by Captain Syrup to defeat Wario, but is instead beaten himself.

Denpū can shoot fireballs that travel along the floor at Wario. To defeat Denpū, Wario must pick up the magic lamp and throw it.

Following her defeat, Captain Syrup will angrily flee and toss a huge bomb behind her ready to explode. Wario narrowly escapes the castle as it blows up behind him. As he lands to safety, Wario finds that the resulting explosion has destroyed Syrup Castle, revealing that a titanic golden statue of Princess Peach was at its core. Just as Wario begins to celebrate however, Mario unexpectedly arrives in a helicopter. With a friendly wave as if to thank Wario for finding the statue for him, Mario grabs the statue with his helicopter, waves goodbye, and flies off into the distance. Resigned to his misfortune, Wario can only shrug.

Still possessing Denpū's lamp however, Wario sets it down upon a beach and gives it a rub. Summoning a now-friendly Denpū, the genie tells Wario that he can grant one wish. Naturally, Wario wishes for a castle of his very own. While Denpū is capable of fulfilling Wario's desire, the genie informs him that he'll need coins in exchange. Wario agrees, walking off-screen to convert all of his gathered treasures (if any were found) into cash, to be consolidated with the rest of the coins he's accumulated over the course of his adventure. Depending on the total amount of coins earned, one of the following possible "castles" can be received:

The Genie requesting Wario's Treasure for one wish
  • Birdhouse (300 to 10,071)
  • Hollow tree trunk (10,072 to 40,007)
  • Log cabin (40,008 to 70,007)
  • Pagoda (70,008 to 90,007)
  • Castle (90,008 to 99,998)
  • Planetoid (99,999+)

Since Wario receives 300 coins upon defeating the Genie, a score of less than 300 is, in theory, impossible to attain.
