Alleyway[edit]

If this game gets an article, what about the Game Boy game Alleyway? Mario steers the ship the player controls, and there are several Mario-themed puzzles. --Grandy02 14:55, 30 December 2009 (EST)

Regional differences in VS. Pinball[edit]

I'm not sure if anyone else has done the research on this topic so I'll post it here. There are two versions for the VS. System, one for Japan and another for the rest of the world. The Japanese version will have the copyright of "Nintendo Co., Ltd.", while the international version will simply say "Nintendo". The character that returns the extra ball is different. In the Japanese version it is Achilles from Family BASIC, but in the international version it is Bubbles from Clu Clu Land. Arcade Archives chose the Japanese version for their release. Here are some videos:

The Bonus Stage BGM is different in each version. Also, the international version has an exclusive sound effect for the slot windows when they are rotating (11:34 in the first video).

Remove identifier?[edit]

I'd say that the identifier is mostly useless. The only other pages that actually use the name "Pinball" are the microgames based on this game. The rest are just alternative names. Shouldn't we move this to "Pinball" and moved "Pinball" to "Pinball (disambiguation)"? Kaptain Kaptain Skurvy doing a Punch from the Donkey Kong Card Game Skurvy 14:32, October 12, 2024 (EDT)

Fair enough. LinkTheLefty (talk) 14:55, October 12, 2024 (EDT)
Should I just move this then? I don't see any reason why I shouldn't. Kaptain Kaptain Skurvy doing a Punch from the Donkey Kong Card Game Skurvy 15:20, October 15, 2024 (EDT)
I'd kinda look at the importance of "alternative names" on a case-by-case basis, particularly metal ball in this case. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 11:10, October 19, 2024 (EDT)
Personally, I believe Baseball not having an identifier over this is a bigger stretch. Kaptain Kaptain Skurvy doing a Punch from the Donkey Kong Card Game Skurvy 5:56, October 20, 2024 (EDT)

Full coverage[edit]

Why does this game have full coverage, exactly? Mario and Pauline only appear in one bonus room, which means they are both guest appearances. That means only the game itself should get an article, right? Kaptain Kaptain Skurvy doing a Punch from the Donkey Kong Card Game Skurvy 08:16, December 1, 2024 (EDT)

Because it was decreed so in a proposal. This one, to be specific: MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive/58#Pinball (1984): full coverage or guest appearance? Salmancer (talk) 08:27, December 1, 2024 (EST)

Remove the identifier[edit]

Removeball 11-0
Per the section above the above section. The only other pages that use the name "Pinball" are microgames based on this game, with anything else having at least a slightly different name (Chomp ball, Metal ball) or games themed around pinball (Super Mario Bros. Mushroom World, Mario Pinball Land, Super Mario Bros.), with only one of these pages featuring the word "pinball" in the title. The only confusion I see occurring is maybe between the Metal ball and this game, though this can be solved with a {{distinguish}} template. Because of all this, I think this page should be moved to Pinball, and that Pinball should be moved to Pinball (disambiguation).

Split VS. Pinball[edit]

Brown Block This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal.

vetoed by the administrators
Nelsonic currently has five other proposals going on currently, so this one breaks rule 2: "A given user may author/co-author a maximum of five total ongoing/unimplemented proposals. Any new proposals over this limit will be immediately canceled."

Per my reasoning on the proposals to split Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong, New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis, and Mario Bros. (Nintendo Classics). There were physical changes made to the playing field, presumably graphical changes since it was playable in arcades, and it is currently categorized under "enhanced ports".

Split. Pinball[edit]

  1. Nelsonic (talk) Per proposal.
  2. VS. Rykitu (talk) Per proposal.
  3. Camwoodstock (talk) Seems only fair, given how many Vs. games we already split. Per proposal.
  4. Hewer (talk) Sure.

Don't split. Pinball[edit]

Comments. Pinball[edit]

Sorry but this proposal is canceled because Nelsonic currently has five other proposals going on currently, which breaks rule 2. link:User:Sparks Sparks (talk) link:User:Sparks 20:03, May 8, 2025 (EDT)

split 8-0
Same proposal as above but by me. Video games with a unique title receive their own article.

Split VS.[edit]

  1. Platform (talk) Per proposal.
  2. Hewer (talk) Not quite sure how that limit of five proposals rule is benefitting anyone, but per proposal again.
  3. EvieMaybe (talk) per prop! (as the one who suggested the rule, it's to prevent pool-up of unimplemented proposals)
  4. Camwoodstock (talk) Actually this time we hate it... nah, just kidding, per ourselves in the previous proposal, the Vs. games have enough to warrant splits by virtue of having to fit in arcade settings.
  5. ThePowerPlayer (talk) I was just thinking about how VS. Pinball warrants a split. Per proposal.
  6. Nelsonic (talk) Per proposal(s).
  7. VS. Pizza Master (talk) VS. opposal. (Per)
  8. Bro3256 (talk) Per proposal(s).
