Quotes from
"The Toad Brigade" (Super Mario Galaxy)
“Captain Toad first appeared in Super Mario Galaxy as the leader of the Toad Brigade, and now he's making a comeback. This time round, we don't just have a theme to signal his introduction - there's also a melody to accompany his adventures.”
Liner notes in the Super Mario 3D World Original Soundtrack

"Captain Toad Goes Forth"[1] is a musical theme in Super Mario 3D World, where it plays in the Captain Toad's Adventures level of the same name, Captain Toad Makes a Splash, Captain Toad Gets Thwomped, and Captain Toad Takes a Spin. The start of this theme is nearly identical to "The Toad Brigade" from Super Mario Galaxy, but it adds a completely new extended melody that makes the piece nearly six times as long. This section has since gone on to become recurring on its own, being arranged alongside "The Toad Brigade" as a leitmotif for Captain Toad and the Toad Brigade.

Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]

When the player is submerged in the water found in Captain Toad Makes a Splash, the theme loses the main melody.
