This segment is the Club Mario segment that aired alongside The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Pirates of Koopa," replacing the original live-action segment "Do You Believe In Magic?"
Plot synopsis[edit]
The segment starts with Co-MC, who is dressed as a pirate, asking Tommy Treehugger, who is also dressed as a pirate and has a beak on his forehead, to help him adjust the TV at Club Mario until the logo appears on the screen. When the Club Mario logo appears on the TV, Co-MC mentions that they are now on air before he and Tommy welcome the viewer to their show. Tommy then complains about having had to dress as the fairy and the robot, explaining that now he has to dress as a parrot. Co-MC explains that, if he had prioritized and come to the staff meetings, he would have been able to pick his role, saying that he chose to be "Pirate MC." Tommy reluctantly decides to be the parrot for the show today, but does not want to be called "Polly," instead preferring to be called "Stan." Pirate MC says that he can live with that, before giving a synopsis of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Pirates of Koopa" as Tommy rests his head on his shoulder like a parrot. After giving the synopsis for today's featured episode, he asks Tommy to repeat what he said in a parrot's voice, which, after some reluctance, does. He then feeds him a saltine cracker before "satellite surfing" to a show sponsored by Law Enforcement Television Network featuring a police officer describing an experience where a criminal picked up his gun and he and colleagues had the option of either shooting him or using the dog, with the ultimately going with the latter option, explaining that both the dog and the police officers survived the incident. Tommy and Pirate MC then "satellite surf" to a show starring Bruce "Action" Jackson, who raps about how he is a rollerblader, with the show featuring several clips of rollerbladers rollerblading.
After their "satellite surfing" session, Pirate MC, who is now speaking with a stereotypical pirate accent, welcomes the viewer back to their show along with Tommy, who is still speaking like a parrot, with the former explaining that they are going to watch today's cartoon episode. He then feeds Tommy another cracker, telling him to "swab the deck." The scene then fades into the cartoon episode.
After the cartoon, Pirate MC, who is still speaking like a pirate, comments that pirates rule, with Tommy, now speaking in his regular voice, agreeing. He then orders him to "swab the deck, set the mast, and get [him] something to drink," with Tommy complaining that he does not want play "this dumb pirate game," explaining that he "ought to peck him to death" with his beak. Pirate MC retorts that he will not peck him to death as long as he has his "pirate putter." As Tommy continues complaining about having to act like a pirate, Pirate MC tells him to be quiet before he "sends [him] to sharks," with Tommy explaining that it is just Joe holding a pole with fin attached to it. Tired of hearing Tommy complaining, Pirate MC orders Tommy to "walk the plank," with Tommy pretending to be scared of having to walk the plank, which is actually a surfboard. He then walks off the "plank," and into the "ocean," (actually the floor of the Club Mario studio), where Tommy pretends that it is cold and that there are sharks, with Joe hitting him with the shark fin pole repeatedly as Co-MC tells the viewer that he and Co-MC are going to watch The Legend of Zelda for this episode. The scene then fades to The Legend of Zelda preview as Tommy tells Joe to stop hitting him with the pole.
After the preview, Pirate MC welcomes the viewer back to "pirate day" on Club Mario. He then tells Tommy, who is sitting next to him, to celebrate, though he complains that he is done with it, explaining that he worked hard for him, was fed to the sharks, and died for him. Co-MC mentions that he is done, explaining that he will be buried at sea before telling the viewer that they will be doing some more "satellite surfing."
Tommy and Co-MC "satellite surf" to a show sponsored by Wham-O, explaining that, like baseball, ice cream, and apple pie, the frisbee is a staple of American culture. They then "satellite surf" to Spaced Out Theater, where Princess Centauri, after welcoming the viewer to the show, says that today's story is "super scary," explaining that the entire universe is in danger. After telling the viewer to grab some popcorn, she then shows several clips from the Photon episode "Necessity and Invention." After showing the clips, Princess Centauri comments that the fortress Bhodi Li and his crew visit is a "dump," explaining that it has toxic sludge everywhere. She then continues by saying that, if Bhodi and Tivia manage to escape the fortress, they should have a nice day shopping on the planet Visa.
After "satellite surfing," Tommy mentions that he loved Spaced Out Theater, with Pirate MC agreeing, explaining that it is the one thing the two agree on. Tommy comments that, though "pirate day" was a little foolish, it was overall a very good day. Pirate MC mentions that they have a "fun fact" for the viewer today, telling them that freshwater fish do not drink, while salt water fish do. He and Tommy then say goodbye to the viewer, telling them that they hope to see them tomorrow, "where the airwaves are [their] waves."
