Like their smaller species, they are immune to the powers of [[Fire Flower]]s. The Big Dry Bones is also highly resilient to being frozen by ice balls, as they'll break free from the ice the instant they're frozen. However, in ''New Super Mario Bros. U'' and ''New Super Luigi U'', where they're unaffected by lava at all (when the ice melts, it comes back to life).

Big Dry Bones

Jumping on a Big Dry Bones will merely stun it for a second. While stunned, the enemy's head will shake and will make a noise (a stomp sound in New Super Mario Bros). Big Dry Bones can only be dismantled with a Ground Pound; the collapsing noise they make when dismantled is low-pitched (similar to Dry Bowser) (Koopa shell kick in New Super Mario Bros.. After about five seconds, the Big Dry Bones comes back together. Mini Mario cannot dismantle them.

Like their smaller species, they are immune to the powers of Fire Flowers. The Big Dry Bones is also highly resilient to being frozen by ice balls, as they'll break free from the ice the instant they're frozen. However, in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, they are defeated upon touching lava, but that weakness is negated in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U, where they're unaffected by lava at all (when the ice melts, it comes back to life).

Big Dry Bones also appear in Mario Party: Island Tour. They appear on the second and third Star Stages of the Star-Crossed Skyway board. They give out seven Mini Ztars.
