Hello, please keep in mind that subpages that don't serve the wiki are not allowed and will be deleted as per userspace policy. Any subpage content made for fun should be kept on your main userpage. Small Mario sprite from Super Mario Bros. Mario JC 07:13, January 21, 2025 (EST)

In regards to the Starlow page[edit]

From someones who've had to wrestle tables many, many times, we'd like to advise in the future using the "Show preview" function whenever possible. Especially when working with more complex stuff like templates or, well, tables. Makes it easier to check if something went wrong while editing as you don't need to load as much of the page, and it keeps the edit log clean. I will, just forgot how to do it. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 02:01, March 4, 2025 (EST)

External links / cameos[edit]

When linking to external sites, you don't use double brackets, just single ones, with the URL followed by a space and the title you want to give it, e.g. [https://www.youtube.com/ YouTube] creates YouTube. MarioWiki:Citations explains the correct formatting for citing a source.

There's also no need to lead every paragraph for cameo appearances with "While [character] does not physically appear in..." since it becomes repetitive, and also wouldn't make sense when saying that for instances like Nintendo Museum and Nintendo Music. ok ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 22:35, March 6, 2025 (EST)

You're still using double brackets for external links. Please follow the citation format on MarioWiki:Citations when citing references next time, or use the {{cite}} template, like this:

Super Mario Bros. Wonder levels[edit]

In regards to the mass of edits made on the pages for Super Mario Bros. Wonder levels adding Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park to the game list, we usually do not include remakes in the Game parameter of a level infobox (the Game parameter is used, specifically, for the game of origin, ignoring remakes or any other subsequent reappearances), nevermind the fact said remake is not released yet. We've reverted these, as they both disregard the general style for infoboxes, and are pre-emptive anyhow.

While this is not an explicit warning in of itself, we'd like to remind you to please refer to the Manual of Style. When the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder does release, you are permitted to re-insert the mention of the Switch 2 version into the article body itself, though you should not re-insert it into the infobox, even when that happens. Uploads[edit]

For future uploads, remember to replace {{uncategorized}} in the summary with an image category link. Go through the Category:Images categories until you find the most appropriate/specific one; e.g. for an image from a non-Mario game with a Mario reference, add:

[[Category:Game reference images]]

For a screenshot from Galaxy:

[[Category:Super Mario Galaxy screenshots]]

You also need to select a license from the "Licensing" drop-down menu underneath the summary (for whether it's a game screenshot, film screenshot, artwork etc.), and any fields you're not using in the aboutfile template in the summary (like "Describe edits, if any") can just be removed, not filled in with "I don't know" or joke entries. See my edit here. Small Mario sprite from Super Mario Bros. Mario JC 06:40, October 20, 2025 (EDT)

Previewing/proofing edits[edit]

Please check over your edits while/after making them instead of leaving the page right after you publish them. The Lubba table had a missing cell and a couple of the system and year cells swapped and the Kammy table had a misaligned row and a red link before I had to correct them for you, both of which would have been obvious to spot if you had looked at the section. Since you're editing on mobile, you should check the preview page thoroughly and go back to fix any mistakes before going ahead to the next screen to publish. Small Mario sprite from Super Mario Bros. Mario JC 07:49, October 23, 2025 (EDT)

Sure. I usually don't care about mobile editing on other things although I will here. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 09:54, October 23, 2025 (EDT)
It's a lot easier to preview edits when you're editing on a desktop or laptop instead of a mobile device. Maybe you could use those as well? Mari0fan100 (talk) 18:58, October 25, 2025 (EDT)
I would but I don't like desktop editing. I'll consider doing it. Also I do preview my edits. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 22:15, October 25, 2025 (EDT)

Stop making lists of appearances[edit]

Hi ILoveBFDI1215, I wanted to know why you've been editing pages to add "list of appearances." I've seen you do it several times, and it seems you're enthusiastic about contributing this way. However, Mario jc already mentioned that this isn't necessary, especially if they are reissues, and frankly, I don't see the point in these lists. As far as I know, these lists are for special cases, not for just any page you find. So, I wanted to politely ask you to stop making these edits since they're more annoying than helpful. This isn't a warning or a reminder; the administrators and patrollers are in charge of that, and if you continue these practices, it's very likely that one of them will be the one visiting your talk page next time. Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 07:27, October 29, 2025 (EDT)

Where has Mario jc told them that these charts are unnecessary? -- KOOPA CON CARNE 07:32, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
On King Kaliente's page, I don't really know how to link a revision, but it's the one from October 26th. Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 07:48, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
This one? The Dab Master 07:54, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
Mario jc's justification for removing that chart on King Kaliente's page was that the character's only reappearances are in re-releases of his debut game. But jc never said these charts are unnecessary altogether, as you suggest. I think it's fine for ILoveBDFI1215 to keep adding in those charts so long as the subject's appearances are more varied. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 07:56, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
And isn't that what I put in the comment? It's not the first time he's done this ; that's why I'm letting him know. He did it with other SMG bosses, and today it was with Boss Sumo Bro, all of them are on my watchlist, which is how I found out. As far as I know, these lists are used for characters with significant appearances in several games, like Luigi, Mario, and others like Shy Guys or Goombas. It doesn't make sense to add list to a page that isn't that big, especially since his appearances are already covered in the story section. What's the point of having a list that says he's a boss in one game, a boss in another game, and yet a boss in another game? Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 08:05, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
I think it's necessary, especially if a character has made enough appearances.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by ILoveBFDI1215 (talk).
I think it should be necessary if a character has appeared in many games and their role changes between them; otherwise, the story section already does all that you are doing. Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 09:04, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
Also several pages have a list of the appearances in the history and the appearances. Make it make sense. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 14:36, November 2, 2025 (EST)

Stub articles[edit]

One or more pages that you have recently created have been deleted or marked as a stub article (Brie Larson). Please consider the following ideas and suggestions when expanding/creating an article:
  • Before saving a new page, be sure that you have put as much effort and information in the article as you can.
  • Make sure that the page follows all of the rules that are outlined in the Manual of Style.
  • Perhaps upload a few images that can be used on the article.
Please don't take this notice as a dejection; this is just an informative notice and we encourage you to keep contributing.

Please only publish the article once it's finished. Small Mario sprite from Super Mario Bros. Mario JC 09:16, November 12, 2025 (EST)

Proposal conduct[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you made a new proposal that has been malformed, and despite me telling you in the comments of the proposal, you only made edits that only made them more confusing (with one formatting exception) and didn't address my concerns at all. Please review my comments and format your proposal accordingly. Altendo 21:28, November 14, 2025 (EST)

I'm trying to fix it. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 22:34, November 14, 2025 (EST)
Just copy-paste my fixed proposal code from "Edit":

(PROPOSAL STARTS HERE)

Restore some of the Super Smash Bros. fighter pages[edit]

So while most of these pages were merged, I've got a few that should be restored and put back into their own articles. For example, I am including crossover stuff including minor appearances in the franchise. I'll be going over the following pages:

  • Captain Falcon
  • Ken Masters
  • Pikachu
    • While I'm barely sure if it counts, Pikachu has appeared in a few Super Mario media, such as this card and a poster for the 30th anniversary that replaced Mario with Pikachu.
  • Steve
    • Steve (and maybe Alex if I remember her having her own separate page) should have never gotten his page deleted as the Nintendo versions of Minecraft might actually count.
  • Princess Zelda
  • Little Mac
    • He really needs his page restored as he appeared physically in Captain Rainbow, aside from that he was in the Wii version of Punch Out which had Donkey Kong as a playable character in it.
  • Bayonetta
    • Nintendo did a collaboration with Bayonetta's own games to add Princess Peach and Princess Daisy costumes.

Comments[edit]

Although I don't necessarily disagree with the objective of this proposal, it is very much improperly formatted (for example, there is no "neutral" option, there was no comments section before I added one, there are no deadlines, votes, or proposer name, and the sectioning is very much off). Signatures also aren't supposed to be on the proposer itself. Altendo 19:33, November 14, 2025 (EST)

@ILoveBFDI1215 You really need to fix your proposal so it becomes votable. If you cannot make a properly formed proposal, I recommend that you withdraw this proposal in order for it to not take up space (something similar happened before, and that proposal ended up getting vetoed due to it similarly being malformed). I really recommend that you read the proposal formatting section of this page and fix it per their directions. Altendo 20:59, November 14, 2025 (EST)

This will likely get deleted and reposted with proper formatting, so I'd like to share my thoughts with the proposer beforehand... Only Captain Falcon and Ken really seem to have valid reasoning. Cameos on merchandise (Pikachu) certainly do not necessitate the creation of a page, or we'd have a bajillion pages for unrelated characters. The same goes for television commercials (Zelda). The fact that Nintendo published versions of Minecraft (Steve) doesn't even have anything to do with the Mario series in the first place... you're saying they would belong on a Nintendo wiki, not on a Mario wiki. The same reasoning goes for Nintendo's collaboration of Bayonetta, even though they added some costumes to the game doesn't magically make Bayonetta a Mario character. She existed on her own and was just given costumes. The "time and effort" of the game developers is irrelevant to our page creation processes. Captain Rainbow is not a Mario video game, and so there's no reason for us to care that Little Mac is in it. There's a LOT of characters in Captain Rainbow besides Little Mac, and we don't need to create pages for each of them. Shadow2 (talk) 23:43, November 14, 2025 (EST)

Honestly the only reason why this is poorly made because I don't know how to make a proposal. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 23:56, November 14, 2025 (EST)
On this very pages are templates for regular proposal formats and poll proposal formats, which you can copypaste and fill in the blanks and such. Since this proposal has support/oppose options for various options, I suggest using the poll proposal format for this one. Either of the formatting templates at least includes the most necessary things, such as a comments section and a deadline.
Also I don't think "Neutral" options are really a thing in proposals at all. These don't really help in the slightest with vote counts (for example, if the Neutral option wins, what's gonna happen then? Is it like when no consensus is reached and the proposal fails anyway? Or do we like, not count those votes? If so, then what's even the point of having those?). We don't need an extra column for neutral votes, it only complicates things. If someone feels neutral on a specific proposal, they simply abstain from voting, and if someone wants to explain why they feel neutral or want to abstain from voting, the comment section exists. (PROPOSAL ENDS HERE)

You still have until November 18 to update this proposal. I recommend you use the formatted proposal I showed you or format yours accordingly with the proper format. Altendo 09:48, November 15, 2025 (EST)`

You formatted your vote on my proposal wrong[edit]

You opposed on one option on my proposal, but with wrong formatting and you also did not have a reason for opposing. This is the correct proposal vote formatting:

#{{User|[Your username]}} [Your reason for supporting/opposing] --Martendo (talk) 18:15, November 23, 2025 (EST)

Fact-checking[edit]

Please be a bit more thorough in the accuracy of your edits, not just by proofreading for formatting errors as I've brought up before but also verifying the information itself is correct. A number of times you reapplied the same information to ports without considering if that information still applies to those ports, like this edit here which refers to the Wii Remote speaker, which the Joy-Con and NVIDIA controllers lack, and the recent edit on iQue (Nvidia Lightspeed Studios/iQiyi were only publishers for the Wii/Nvidia versions, and Galaxy 2 did get a Chinese name this time, so "N/A" is inaccurate). Small Mario sprite from Super Mario Bros. Mario JC 05:19, December 24, 2025 (EST)

Unnecessary linking[edit]

You have done unnecessary linking on the Trampoline article, specifically in section Super Mario Galaxy where you linked "large", "round", and "orange springboard". Those are even red links, so there is no reason why you have done this.

- Pipro Icon.png Pipro (talk) (contributions) 09:52, December 28, 2025 (EST)

Reverting edits[edit]

Is there a reason you keep reverting an undo edit and then immediately reversing it? Your reason was "wrong page" but you've made that summary three times now on my edits, and all it does is add pointless edits to the history page. Small Mario sprite from Super Mario Bros. Mario JC 04:34, December 28, 2025 (EST) I don't know but I'm sorry guess I didn't mean to do it. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 11:10, December 28, 2025 (EST)

Reminder[edit]

Please stop making rushed/clumsy edits on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

A number of these Galaxy-related edits, with the speed you're going and how many there have been, have been really rushed and on multiple instances leaving behind grammatical errors or broken links, and it's clear you're blazing through every page without taking proper care of the quality of your edits. You need to slow down and check over your edits and make sure it's properly formatted and the grammar connects correctly, at least a quick glance before moving on if you're making a quick succession of edits.

Also, I question the need to go through every instance of Mario's name being mentioned in the context of the Galaxy games and replace them with "Mario or Luigi", and I'd advise that you focus your time and effort on other edits instead. It would be less tedious (and repetitive) to simply add "(or Luigi)" in parentheses at the first mention of Mario's name without having to change every subsequent mention and every singular pronoun ("he", "him" etc.) to plural pronouns ("they", "them" etc.), like this. Small Mario sprite from Super Mario Bros. Mario JC 22:17, January 1, 2026 (EST)

So are you saying I shouldn't do the Galaxy edits anymore? This is really confusing. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 12:58, January 2, 2026 (EST)

Daisy Blossom split?[edit]

Hey, so I noticed your edit on Peach Blossom advocating for spitting Daisy Blossom from it got reverted. Do you want to keep working on that? I have a pitch for splitting the pages and I don't want to do work that you want to do yourself. Salmancer (talk) 18:47, January 7, 2026 (EST) I'll do it. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 20:17, January 7, 2026 (EST)
