Hello, please keep in mind that subpages that don't serve the wiki are not allowed and will be deleted as per userspace policy. Any subpage content made for fun should be kept on your main userpage. Ashley costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 07:13, January 21, 2025 (EST)

In regards to the Starlow page[edit]

From someones who've had to wrestle tables many, many times, we'd like to advise in the future using the "Show preview" function whenever possible. Especially when working with more complex stuff like templates or, well, tables. Makes it easier to check if something went wrong while editing as you don't need to load as much of the page, and it keeps the edit log clean. I will, just forgot how to do it. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 02:01, March 4, 2025 (EST)

External links / cameos[edit]

When linking to external sites, you don't use double brackets, just single ones, with the URL followed by a space and the title you want to give it, e.g. [https://www.youtube.com/ YouTube] creates YouTube. MarioWiki:Citations explains the correct formatting for citing a source.

There's also no need to lead every paragraph for cameo appearances with "While [character] does not physically appear in..." since it becomes repetitive, and also wouldn't make sense when saying that for instances like Nintendo Museum and Nintendo Music. ok ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 22:35, March 6, 2025 (EST)

You're still using double brackets for external links. Please follow the citation format on MarioWiki:Citations when citing references next time, or use the {{cite}} template, like this:

<ref>{{cite
|author=Robinson, A.
|date=March 30, 2020
|url=https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/super-mario-bros-35th-anniversary/
|title=Nintendo has big plans for Super Mario Bros.’ 35th anniversary
|publisher=Video Games Chronicle
|accessdate=March 20, 2025
}}</ref>

I'm sorry for not adding it, I was just too lazy. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 18:18, March 21, 2025 (EDT)

Super Mario Bros. Wonder levels[edit]

In regards to the mass of edits made on the pages for Super Mario Bros. Wonder levels adding Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park to the game list, we usually do not include remakes in the Game parameter of a level infobox (the Game parameter is used, specifically, for the game of origin, ignoring remakes or any other subsequent reappearances), nevermind the fact said remake is not released yet. We've reverted these, as they both disregard the general style for infoboxes, and are pre-emptive anyhow.

While this is not an explicit warning in of itself, we'd like to remind you to please refer to the Manual of Style. When the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder does release, you are permitted to re-insert the mention of the Switch 2 version into the article body itself, though you should not re-insert it into the infobox, even when that happens. Uploads[edit]

For future uploads, remember to replace {{uncategorized}} in the summary with an image category link. Go through the Category:Images categories until you find the most appropriate/specific one; e.g. for an image from a non-Mario game with a Mario reference, add:

[[Category:Game reference images]]

For a screenshot from Galaxy:

[[Category:Super Mario Galaxy screenshots]]

You also need to select a license from the "Licensing" drop-down menu underneath the summary (for whether it's a game screenshot, film screenshot, artwork etc.), and any fields you're not using in the aboutfile template in the summary (like "Describe edits, if any") can just be removed, not filled in with "I don't know" or joke entries. See my edit here. Ashley costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 06:40, October 20, 2025 (EDT)

Previewing/proofing edits[edit]

Please check over your edits while/after making them instead of leaving the page right after you publish them. The Lubba table had a missing cell and a couple of the system and year cells swapped and the Kammy table had a misaligned row and a red link before I had to correct them for you, both of which would have been obvious to spot if you had looked at the section. Since you're editing on mobile, you should check the preview page thoroughly and go back to fix any mistakes before going ahead to the next screen to publish. Sure. I usually don't care about mobile editing on other things although I will here. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 09:54, October 23, 2025 (EDT)
It's a lot easier to preview edits when you're editing on a desktop or laptop instead of a mobile device. Maybe you could use those as well? Mari0fan100 (talk) 18:58, October 25, 2025 (EDT)
I would but I don't like desktop editing. I'll consider doing it. Also I do preview my edits. ILoveBFDI1215 (talk) 22:15, October 25, 2025 (EDT)

Stop making lists of appearances[edit]

Hi ILoveBFDI1215, I wanted to know why you've been editing pages to add "list of appearances." I've seen you do it several times, and it seems you're enthusiastic about contributing this way. However, Mario jc already mentioned that this isn't necessary, especially if they are reissues, and frankly, I don't see the point in these lists. As far as I know, these lists are for special cases, not for just any page you find. So, I wanted to politely ask you to stop making these edits since they're more annoying than helpful. This isn't a warning or a reminder; the administrators and patrollers are in charge of that, and if you continue these practices, it's very likely that one of them will be the one visiting your talk page next time. Where has Mario jc told them that these charts are unnecessary? -- KOOPA CON CARNE 07:32, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
On King Kaliente's page, I don't really know how to link a revision, but it's the one from October 26th. Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 07:48, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
This one? The Dab Master 07:54, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
Mario jc's justification for removing that chart on King Kaliente's page was that the character's only reappearances are in re-releases of his debut game. But jc never said these charts are unnecessary altogether, as you suggest. I think it's fine for ILoveBDFI1215 to keep adding in those charts so long as the subject's appearances are more varied. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 07:56, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
And isn't that what I put in the comment? It's not the first time he's done this ; that's why I'm letting him know. He did it with other SMG bosses, and today it was with Boss Sumo Bro, all of them are on my watchlist, which is how I found out. As far as I know, these lists are used for characters with significant appearances in several games, like Luigi, Mario, and others like Shy Guys or Goombas. It doesn't make sense to add list to a page that isn't that big, especially since his appearances are already covered in the story section. What's the point of having a list that says he's a boss in one game, a boss in another game, and yet a boss in another game? Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 08:05, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
I think it's necessary, especially if a character has made enough appearances.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by ILoveBFDI1215 (talk).
I think it should be necessary if a character has appeared in many games and their role changes between them; otherwise, the story section already does all that you are doing. Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 09:04, October 29, 2025 (EDT)
