The 'Shroom:Issue 231/The 'Shroom Spotlight
The 'Shroom Spotlight
Written by: RHG1951 (talk) and Technetium (talk)
Hello, all you readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.
With less than a week to go until the voting period for the Mario Awards ends, this is our call to action for you to cast your votes if you haven't yet. Heck, you can go vote again if you haven't done so this week. And don't forget to vote for the community awards too! With that out of the way, let's see how last month fared.
Amazingly, all six focuses were completed within the week of the issue releasing! Illuminoid (talk) quickly created Fast Cash: Tip-Tap's Coin Spree and added sections for the Super Mario Galaxy games to Cloud Lift. SuperGamer18 (talk) uploaded a more appropriately-sized version of File:Cloud Block TSMBM.png and found out that the claim in the Lightning article was likely a misinterpretation of a GameFAQs thread. Last but not least, Mariuigi Khed (talk) added the website descriptions for Flurrie and went the extra mile by also filling out her role in Super Mario-kun, added Super Mario Sunshine info to Cloud Lift, and fixed the hole in the satellite picture by adding the missing images to Luigi Cyclone. We're certainly glad all the focuses had their time in the sun.
And now onto this month's focuses:
| Article | Category | Focuses |
|---|---|---|
| Hey all you people, won't you listen to me? Jellyfish Pizza is the pizza for you and me! Wait, we got our SpongeBob references mixed up. No matter, create this article so that we may know if these pizzas are made with jellyfish jelly. | ||
| The quote on the top of the article indicates the sheep in Mario Golf: Super Rush have relevance during gameplay, but the game's section is only a sentence long! Take the role of a shepherd and steer this section into a better position. | ||
| This page is so wrong, it isn't funny. The PoV is rather crummy. Most descriptions are written from a second-person perspective as they are written as imperative sentences. Wrap things up and rewrite them from the correct perspective. | ||
| Now that Mario Kart World is a year old, let's circle on back to this article. Last time, we suggested to use images in place of citations, but now we're making it your mission. Go on a road trip and snap some souvenir photos of each obstacle. | ||
| We know the Nintendo 64 is a very fussy machine to emulate correctly, but surely the line can be drawn at shadows rendering over the objects that cast them. Send us over the moon by getting a more accurate screenshot of this minigame. | ||
| This is not a drill: The name of this move may not actually be "Drill Spin". We won't know for certain until someone drills down and finds a source for the name. |
Now just before we leave you, we'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently 50 that need to be implemented, dating as far back as 2024, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed. Additionally, there are many unresolved discussions that we would love to see come to some sort of conclusion. Some might have already concluded and just need the template removed, others have been waiting for a response for years. There are also thousands of articles with unsourced foreign names. They are found within this category, so please help out and add sources for them.
Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact us on either RHG's talk page or Technetium's talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
