Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Normally this is where I'd tell you about our summer special, but we already did that last month! You... you did read it, right? Either way, happy to have you here for our June issue! We've still got exciting things going on this month, because we're diving headfirst into Awards season!
To that end, we've got the annual Community Awards Dossier for you to look at! Give it a read, check out the nominees, and then cast your votes! You can vote for up to four nominees at once, so be sure to spread the love. We're lucky to have so many very cool and very talented people in this community, and to be able to celebrate them and their creations! As a matter of fact, we have so many that we couldn't fit them all on the ballots, so don't forget about the write-in feature if there's someone or something you'd like to recognize that didn't make the cut. You can also vote again this week in the Mario and Fail Awards! Voting for all three will be open until the end of June 26th, so don't miss your chance!
Sign-ups are also open for award presentations! They've been going fast, but we still have some slots that need to be filled. Check it out and see if there's anything that interests you. Presentations don't have to be big and flashy, just have fun with it!
Anyway, new 'Shroom of course! Awards may be getting its fair share of the spotlight this time of year, but our team of staff and writers is as hard at work as ever bringing more stuff together for you to read! Stuff that you can vote for in next year's Community Awards, even - oops, I'm getting a little too ahead of myself...
Enjoy the issue!

How's it going everyone? June marks the end of the school year, and that means all students get three months of fun! That's also good news for us, as that means there's nothing holding you back from reading The 'Shroom!
OH MY GOSH we've got so many awesome game announcements between issues! We're getting a Rayman Legends remake AND a new Spyro game?! Cuphead is a getting both a spinoff and a sequel! Furthermore, Kingdom Rush Genesis finally gets a release date of September 24! And last but not least, DELTARUNE Chapter 5 arrives June 24! The hype train is strong with this one!
Perhaps my favorite news of all though is not the release of a new video game. Paper Mario-inspired RPG Escape from Ever After (fantastic game by the way!) announced that Makeship will manufacture a plush of one of the characters! It was decided by the fans, and wouldn't you know it, Tinder (the dragon) ended up winning the poll! At the time of posting this, her plushie is planned to release later this year. I pledged and can't wait for her to arrive!
There is no 'Shroom issue without guest sections!
- We have two in Fake News:
- In a News Flush, Shoey (talk) writes about the bankruptcy of - what's this? A rival of The 'Shroom? We're the best wiki community newspaper around, so I'm glad this cheap copy is outta here!
- Have you ever wondered who Diddy Kong's parents are? Letter Kong talks about the long-lost parents of our favorite underrated monkey! Their backstories are... interesting, to say the least.
- Palette Swap gets a collaboration between Boo1268 and Hooded Pitohui (talk) have provided The Florida Man & the Business Man, a story featuring many community original characters, one of which being a cool flamingo! This is quite the detailed and lengthy adventure to check out!
- Also, Captain Clawgrip's Quest continues in a second part.
Have fun reading y'all! Be sure to vote in the awards if you haven't yet too!
—Sparks, Sub-Director
