Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Thank you for supporting Sparks and I in our re-election campaign, we're excited to get to run the paper for another year! First time writing one of these as the incumbent director, feels weird. With that in mind, this one's going to be shorter than last year - we don't have a whole lot on the docket besides continuing with what we're already doing more or less.
Aside from the usual 'Shroom operations, here's our current plans for the year if you missed the campaign post:
- Our two special issues this year will be Issue 230 (May 2026), commemorating Lakituthequick's 100th issue as Website Manager, and Issue 238 (January 2027), commemorating Roserade and Hooded Pitohui's 100th issues as Fun Stuff and Strategy Wing Directors, respectively. We've got some interesting ideas kicking around already!
- 'Shroomfest will be returning this spring, kicking off with the release of Issue 228 (March 2026). We're also considering another one in the second half of the year, but will be assessing reception to the March 'Shroomfest and community energy at the time before we officially commit to it.
Of course, we'd love to hear your feedback as always, whether that's fresh ideas or thoughts on current aspects of the paper that could be improved. Don't hesitate to reach out!
