Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Well, it's 2026 now, which means we're on the same calendar as the new Tomodachi Life babyyyyyy. In case I haven't made it clear, I'm very excited about this game. This issue also brings us to the end of the 2025 director term, but it looks like Sparks and I aren't going anywhere - thank you for your support to our campaign! Feel free to check out our Directorial Address for our plans for the next 12 months, and please do let us know if you have any suggestions and/or feedback. Here's to another great year for the paper! Personally, I think we're already off to a great start because we get to unveil another set of seasonal front page banners once again provided by the very talented Ninja Squid (talk).
In other news, we've chosen our new Statistics Manager - please welcome MightyMario (talk) to The 'Shroom staff! We're very excited to have him on board. Now's a good time to send in an application as a... jobwarming gift? Is that a term? I don't think it is, but you know what I'm trying to go for. Anyway, if you want to apply for The 'Shroom, read the sign up page and then head over to the forums to send it in! And of course, a big thank you to Meta Knight (talk) for working with us these past few years, and well wishes.
The Poll Committee has been mercifully spared from death (this isn't a joke by the way, there was a whole thing), so the Poll Chairperson Election is still happening next month! If leading the charge of making the wiki's front page polls for the next year is something that interests you, it's a great time to start thinking about a campaign if you haven't yet.

Can't you believe this is the final 'Shroom issue for the 2025 term? I can understand if you still need more time to process 2025 concluding! I've said this multiple times already, but I'm very grateful to have worked with WT on bringing you all an exciting and amazing year of The 'Shroom. I appreciate all of your support and engagement to making it as popular as it was!
You may have noticed I changed my PFP on the Mario Boards and Discord to Ralsei from Deltarune. That's right - I'm a big fan of him now! At the very end of December, I played Deltarune for the very first time and experienced everything fresh. To keep things brief, I LOVED it! I'd even go as far to say it was the best game I've played in 2025. Of the four chapters I've played, chapter 2 is my absolute favorite. I have also ordered a Ralsei plush! He should arrive no later than Q1 2026. Now I patiently wait for Ralsei and chapter 5 to release; it won't TAKE TOO LONG will it? I'm just kidding! Toby and the gang should take their time to make the chapter the best it can be.
