The 'Shroom Spotlight

Hello, all you readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.
We're celebrating the release of Donkey Kong Bananza this month by shining the spotlight on DK! Sorry not sorry Mario, don't forget which game you originated in. That's not all, though. We've heard your feedback, and we're finally doing it. The number of focuses this month is 10! One focus for each year without an original Donkey Kong game...and still one short. Dang. But we're sure the wait was worth it. And depending on how things go, perhaps we'll make 10 focuses the norm.
Before we barrel into this month's focuses, let's go over the ones from last month. Things went much better when compared to May's performance as most of the focuses were completed within days of the issue's release. MawRayMaster (talk) created the article for Evil Eric and ThePowerPlayer (talk) added Mobile Golf information to Foreman Spike's article, added Fake Wario's powered-up sprite, and uploaded a better version of File:PMTTYD Shadow Queen True Form Render.png. Sadly, the Extension Corps did not receive a story extension and the origins of King Boo's full name and biography in Luigi's Mansion is still unknown.
And now onto this month's focuses:
Article | Category | Focuses |
---|---|---|
For such an integral move in the Donkey Kong Country games, its lack of coverage seems very odd to us, bananas, even. Thankfully, it's in Donkey Kong Bananza, so there's some contemporary incentive to get it written. | ||
DK: Jungle Climber is still missing a few level pages, including this one. Thankfully, pages for Glass Labyrinth and Glass Labyrinth 3 already exist, so let those guide your way through this maze. | ||
Void Kong is awfully suspicious, not having a "y" at the end of his name... Hmm, something feels off about this Dread Kong fellow as well... Oh, of course: his page has no info about his battle in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat! | ||
While Donkey Kong is out there making it big with DK Spaceport, we can't forget that Bluster Kong won the space race. Wait, did his rocket ever reach space? Add information about the Barrel Rocket's appearances in other episodes of the Donkey Kong Country television series so we can determine the true winner. | ||
Unlike Taj, we're requiring you to find and list all of the Taj Tokens scattered around Timber's Island. Is there 10 total tokens on the island, or are there more than 10 to find? | ||
Currently, the article is more about the bosses that are transformed by the Crystal Bananas, rather than the Crystal Bananas themselves. It needs to be rewritten so the Crystal Bananas are the focus. Prove yourself to be the top banana and fix this slip-up. | ||
Before setting off on the latest Donkey Kong adventure with Donkey Kong Bananza, we need to return to Bad Banana Bonanza from Donkey Kong Adventure. The article lacks images of the battle map found in most other Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle level articles (e.g. this). Get on this quick because "Bonanza" is starting to look like the incorrect spelling. | ||
Watch out, Diddy Kong is angry, and it's not just because he lost his second banana position to Pauline. This animation isn't quite right, as Diddy is supposed to stomp on his hat nine times and he raises his arms too abruptly on the last stomp. Fix this and perhaps Diddy will be in a better mood. | ||
This may be Jungle Retreat and not Jungle Beat, but the lack of music is concerning. Both the stadium's original theme and the DK Island Swing remix are missing. Add them to the page so DK can pull off his sweet victory dance moves. | ||
We have a pirate issue here, and we're not talking about Kaptain K. Rool. Supposedly, the mainland China release of the game was cancelled because of software piracy. Take a swing at proving the veracity of this statement. |
Now just before we leave you, we'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently 32 that need to be implemented, dating as far back as 2021, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed. Additionally, there are many unresolved discussions that we would love to see come to some sort of conclusion. Some might have already concluded and just need the template removed, others have been waiting for a response for years. There are also thousands of articles with unsourced foreign names. They are found within this category, so please help out and add sources for them.
Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact us on either RHG's talk page or Technetium's talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
