Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Is it time for another issue already? It still feels like we just put out the summer special... Well, we've packed away all the villain costumes for now, which is a good thing for me at least because it's pretty hot out there. This isn't the time of year for cloaks, I'm afraid!
You may have noticed our main page looks a little different - and that's thanks to our refreshed side banners courtesy of our Design Manager Ninja Squid (talk)! Aren't they cool? The previous design was in use since Issue 64 way back in 2012 (with seasonal variants introduced in 2015), and as it turns out, the warranty expired, so we had to get our local ninja to make some new ones. Joking aside, these are part of our continuing efforts to keep the visuals of the paper looking nice and sleek, and we'll be rolling out the rest of them over the coming months with the usual changing of the seasons.
Sparks has the guest sections covered, but we have several new sections starting this month as well! Quite a bit of it's in Palette Swap, actually - maybe the new DK Artist mode in Donkey Kong Bananza has our writers feeling artistic? I won't encroach on Funky's territory by going into too much detail, but we've got new poems, new fanfictions, and even new comics! Police Blotter is back on a regular basis in Fake News, and NIWA News will be occasionally returning to Pipe Plaza for those of you interested in our wiki neighbors.
Speaking of fanfictions, don't miss out on the continuing adventures of Cosmo and co. in TheBlueCatMenace's new special feature, Welcome To Cosmo Kart! Don't worry, we're not increasing the price on this one. You can still read it for the low, low price of free.
Oh, and while I can't say anything specific yet, we're planning a fun little activity in the coming months that our writers will have an opportunity to shape! I'll have more details for next month, but if it's been a while since you've written anything, consider sending us a section sometime in the next few months if you want to make sure you can get in on that!

Hoo-wee, It sure is hot outside! Are all of you keeping cool this July? Or if you live somewhere cold, are you keeping warm? Wherever you are, I hope everything's going well for ya!
The Villains Special was a huge success, and it's all thanks to you amazing writers and the staff involved! So many amazing and passionate sections... so awesome! Did ya'll vote in the Awards by the way? I can't wait to see the presentations next month! Anyways, now it's time to move back to the standard 'Shroom theme, but don't worry - we've got more surprises planned... ooh!

- Shoey (talk) presents Search for Planet Stasiak Sparks Interest and Skepticism, and despite my name in the title I am NOT a part of it! Does this mysterious Planet Stasiak actually exist, and who is this strange individual who shares their name with the planet?
- ClawgripFan9001 provides a crazy weather report in Weather Forecast! If you think you've seen some wild weather, then wait until you see what's going on at Waluigi Island. There's also a sponsor for a certain cereal you may or may not know about!
- In Palette Swap, ClawgripFan9001 has part 2 of Die WAH With A Vengeance, where Waluigi continues his adventures in the Waffle Kingdom! What will happen in these mouth-watering locations? Mmmm... now I'm getting hungry.
- In Critic Corner, Shoey makes a Shoetacular Review about Raw, a wrestling game dating back to 2002! That game released before I was even born! Shoey himself is a big fan of wrestling, but what about this game?
