The kart infobox is used to give general information for the driveable vehicles in the Mario Kart series. This includes karts, bikes, ATVs, trikes[Japanese] and mobiles[Japanese], as well as the separate gliders and tires in games with customizable vehicles.

| |title= | By default, this is not necessary, as it will automatically use the article title sans identifier. For special cases, it can be manually specified. |
| |image= | An image of the kart from the most recently released game.[Proposal 2] Preferably without a driver. If it has multiple color schemes, the default one—or alternatively Mario's—is also preferred. |
| |type= | What type of vehicle it is, based on the types listed in Category:Mario Kart vehicles. Also used to denote Gliders and Tires |
| |character= |object= |
What Super Mario character or object the vehicle is based on. Examples include the Waddle Wing being based on Waddlewing or the Egg 1 being based on Yoshi's Egg. Also used to denote specific cases where vehicles are associated with a character, such as B Dasher being one of Mario's default selectable karts in Mario Kart DS. Artwork of a character using a vehicle, or a non-playable opponent using one during races, are not sufficient evidence for this parameter. |
| |appears_in= | The games in which this vehicles appears in. Only playable Mario Kart appearances are valid, as to not include secundary cameos and references which dilute the usefulness of the parameter. Other appearances can still be included in the article's body as normal. |
| |variant_of= | Another kart that the kart is based on (e.g. the Spicy Zucchini is based on the Zucchini). |
| |variants= | Any variants of this kart, (e.g. the Spicy Zucchini is based on the Zucchini). |
| |related= | Other vehicles in cases in which it's not clear which is the variant of which (if either). |
| |collapsed= | Set to y to collapse the related and variants parameters if either becomes too tall. |

| |size= | The size of the kart, if it is locked to certain classes, such as in Mario Kart Wii. |
| |strong= | A list of the kart's strongest stats by games it appears in. |
| |average= | A list of the kart's average stats by games it appears in. |
| |weak= | A list of the kart's weakest stats by games it appears in. |
