Telekinetic?[edit]

what does telekinetic mean? unless it means: possesses things, it should be changed. a poltergeist throws, moved and just enchants objects by possessing them. 109.145.44.126 11:40, 2 March 2013 (EST)

Telekinesis is the ability to move things using psychic powers Yoshi876 (talk) 17:04, 2 March 2013

possession doesn't sound like physics, we must/should change it so it is correct. 109.145.44.126 12:37, 2 March 2013 (EST)

I said psychic, not physics the article is fine and doesn't need to be changed Yoshi876 (talk)

A: what does psychic mean and B: it isn't fine as it is, it is incorrect and possibly a speculation. 109.145.44.126 12:58, 3 March 2013 (EST)

Psychic is used to describe someone with psychic powers i.e. seeing into the future or moving objects without touching them, also there is a such a thing as a dictionary which can be used to look up words. Besides I've seen trailers where the Poltergeist uses telekinesis, another word for psychic powers, to attack Luigi. Yoshi876 (talk)

No longer a Boss?[edit]

Turns out there are 3 Poltergeist in the Gloomy Manor from this [1]. Does this mean its no longer a boss as there's 3 of them. Also the mission has been fully changed including the rooms Luigi visits. A major re-write is needed as well. - Cubegy

Poltergesit is a sub-boss, not a boss (although it's a boss in Scarescaper). There can be more of the same sub-boss; just look at the Kirby games. We'll probably have to rewrite the description of the rooms, though. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 21:57, 21 March 2013 (EDT)

I don't know why i am saying this, but the boss is called the brain, we might need to make a page about itRobecuba (talk) 10:44, 31 March 2013 (EDT)

PAL name[edit]

I have just been looking at the English website, and it calls this enemy a Boffin. I was just wondering if I could add that on. ''Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast'' - Rimmer (talk) 16:33, 26 March 2013 (EDT)

Go ahead. Binarystep (talk) 20:46, 26 March 2013 (EDT)

It is still called a Poltergiest, though E.gadd refers them to as Boffin's in game, this is only for the Ancient & Super Poltergiest, so it is incorrect. Also they are called Poltergiests in the ghost vault and E.gadd refers to them as poltergiests when first encontered as well. - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

The PAL name is indeed Boffin, and the other two are called Boffin Elder and Strong Boffin. Bowser the Second (talk) 02:19, 3 April 2013 (EDT)

I have the PAL version and it says Poltergiest in the vault, and E.Gadd also calls each one a poltergiest and uses boffin as some sort of nick name in game as i have stated. - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)
That's strange, I have the PAL version and it says Boffin. ''Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast'' - Rimmer (talk) 13:00, 13 April 2013 (EDT)

The Brains health conundrum[edit]

I cant say for anyone else but iv encountered the brain with more than 300HP, iv found this on harder difficulties espically, but has anyone else encountered this? - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

On expert mode, i found one with 800 HP Pokebub (talk) 17:00, 20 April 2013 (EDT)

The Brain[edit]

We should give The Brain it's own article. Hearty_Laughter_by_KokinhoKokeiro.gifKingfawful4321

I htink it should have it's own article. Pokebub (talk) 16:59, 20 April 2013 (EDT)

Me too. it already has a picture. Hearty_Laughter_by_KokinhoKokeiro.gifKingfawful4321

Support[edit]

  1. Pokebub (talk) He has a lot more health than a regular poltergeist, more big, is a boss, and a lot more differences than a regular poltergeist.
  2. Kingfawful4321 (talk) It is bigger, has another power, and more health. Bomb Brother is just a bigger greenie with more HP and another power. same goes for Brain.

Oppose[edit]

  1. A Paragoomba and the Koopa Bros. (talk) I'm afraid I'll have to oppose this. There has been a proposal on the ScareScraper where the recolors of the main five you encounter which is now settled.
  2. King Pikante (talk) The proposer did not give ANY REASON AT ALL for making this page, so until they find any reason for it to be split, I'm staying on the oppose side.
  3. BowserJunior (talk) Per all. Also, both support votes are invalid.
  4. Baby Luigi (talk) The article is fine the way it is. The Brain is just a larger version of Poltergeists with the ability to make a shockwave. That's it. We don't need a separate article for it since that is just redundant.
  5. ParaLemmy1234 (talk) Per King Pikante and Baby Luigi.
  6. Cubeguy (talk) This is exactlley like the Scaresraper page situation so in simple words, it's already merged and doesnt need to be seperated.
  7. Goomba (talk) Per Cubeguy.

Comments[edit]

@King Pikante: I think it's above the actual proposal. Yoshi876 (talk)

@supporters: Not making any reason at all to oppose invalidates your vote. Please add a reason before an administrator removes it. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C)

@A Paragoomba and the Koopa Bros.: The Brain isn't a recolor of the poltergeist though. Pokebub (talk)

@Kingfawful4321 just because it has an image, doesn't really mean a separate article is needed. You need to state your reason somewhere in the actual proposal itself. Blue Toad on Red Yoshi artwork YoshiToad04 Yoshi and Toad playing hockey

This sholdn't actually be happening as i mentioned in my vote, the Brain falls under the same situation as the Scarescraper's ghost merge vote. Technnically the Brain fell under that vote and thus we are undoing it for some reason? - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

Kingfawful4321: Bomb Brother has different colors of himself as well, unlike normal Greenies and The Brain. I think that's another reason Bomb Brother and Greenie are split.
Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 18:45, 6 May 2013 (EDT)
Also, Bomb Brothers carry large bombs and release bombs upon getting sucked. They're always fought in pairs. They warrant as much as an article as Strong Greenies do BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 19:15, 6 May 2013 (EDT)

Again iv stated that, this has already been resolved in the earlier proposal to merge the scarecraper bossess together and no longer needs to be discussed, so why has this not stopped yet? - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

@ParaLemmy1234 i didn't mean "WE SHOULD MAKE A ARTICLE JUST BECAUSE IT HAS AN IMAGE!!" i meant: "Brain already has a good artwork, so we don't have to have one of those imagy requesty thing-a-ma-jig".

Split The Brain from Poltergeist[edit]

Settledproposal.svg This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

passed 8-0

Yeah, we've been here before, but now, I'm in favor of reversing the previous proposal's direction. Let me address the arguments (including my own in the past) on why the reasoning isn't exactly in favor now.

  1. If we split this article, we have to split all Scarescraper ghost variations!: Not exactly true. All variations are recolors of each other. In actuality, the analogy fits better with why Bomb Brother and Greenie gets split, or Creeper Launchers and Gobbers get split. The Brain is a bigger variant of the Poltergeists, and he is the sole, final boss of any Scarescraper that isn't endless, unlike the other Scarescraper variations which are randomized (download play players can't even see the different textures of those ghosts, but they can still see The Brain).
  2. The Brain is exactly the same as Poltergeist except with a different attack!: Queen Hisstocrat and Hisstocrat are split despite that they have only one difference because they were distinct entities. Gobblegut and Fiery Gobblegut are split, as well as Dino Piranha and Fiery Dino Piranha, both examples who have only a few key differences. Behemoth and Behemoth King are split too despite having literally no differences aside from health. The forcefield attack, the HP difference, and the fact that he is always the definitive final boss of Scarescraper is enough good reasons he should be split.

Only around 2 reasons, but I've debunked them. Any other comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Comments[edit]

The Behemoths also have different attack patterns and different appearances, which is a decently substantial difference. What are the differences between a Poltergeist and The Brain? Hello, I'm Time Turner.

The Brain is considerably bigger than a normal Poltergeist, and he has a forcefield attack that knocks Luigis sucking him in away. He has more health than a normal Poltergeist, and his health is also dependent on the difficulty of said Scarescraper. Also, he is always the final boss of Scarescraper, which the mode is nothing essentially nothing but a randomized array of enemies and rooms.
