Terminology for the past courses of Mario Kart 7[edit]
In the case of Mario Kart 7 we have a case of clashing terminology for the past courses. The North American page uses the classics term, while the British page uses the retro courses term (thankfully, both agree in using the new terminology for the newly introduced courses). Should we consider using the classic term for the past courses of Mario Kart 7, also considering how that game basically introduced the modern terminology in use until Mario Kart World?--Mister Wu (talk) 01:56, January 26, 2026 (UTC)
- This wiki as a whole favors North America over Great Britian, as stated in MarioWiki:Manual of Style#Spelling standardization regarding spelling and game titles. I assume that would extend to terminology, resulting in the wiki using "classic course" on every page with the exception of the page responsible for defining the term. That page would be the one to say "'classic course', known as 'retro course' in European releases..." or something to that effect. Salmancer (talk) 02:41, January 26, 2026 (UTC)

While the Mario Kart games are certainly the most numerous of the racing games we cover, they aren't the only ones with race courses or battle courses in them. For instance, we cover both Famicom Grand Prix: F1 Race and Diddy Kong Racing, both of which have race courses of the same basic system as these (and the latter has battle courses as well), and it makes sense to me to include those as well. How should this issue be solved? Perhaps we could have an "outside the Mario Kart series" section after the "spinoff courses" section? That still doesn't account for the naming... - This makes sense.
- For title, would Course (racing games), Course (racetrack), or just Course (racing) be acceptable? 204.111.132.153 21:59, February 3, 2026 (UTC)
- I think the Mario Kart courses have enough specific elements to them, including the wide web of self-references in returning courses, that the page should remain about them. If other series deserve articles about their own courses, they should get their own page rather than awkwardly having what is effectively a second article tacked on the bottom just because superficially they are both racing courses. — Lady Sophie_17

Remix course merge[edit]

Classic course and new course already got their articles merged with this one, so I don't really see why Remix course wouldn't merged as well. The article is pretty small (probably half as big as classic course and new course were). I feel like that article is just better off being merged with this one.
