I don't think Bomb Seed is very notable, seeing as it is only featured in one minigame. Should we create articles for Paint Gun or Poker Chips? I think not. We should just have it in the minigame article, just with other minigame-exclusive items.

Toad85: Do you know what a stub is? A stub is an article that lacks sufficient information. They are not necessarily short articles. Ray Trace^(T|C)

@DKPetey99: So you think we should have Poker Chip, Ink Gun, Pen, etc. articles too? As far as I know, this is the only minigame-exclusive item that has an article, therefore, this should be merged for consistency.

And @DKDKBBJ: we don't have an article for Jagged Leaf or Winner's Balloon. Plus, it's notable for having a description? Literally every single thing in the world has a description, long or short. Yoshiwaker

@Yoshiwaker: Bomb Seeds appear in a minigame and as a figuring. Winner's Balloon and Jagged Leaf don't appear in a minigame. That's like merging Bullet Blitzer to its minigame. DKPetey99^TCE 08:27, 16 August 2011 (EDT)

Then we should merge it too. I see no reason to have that article either. And Jagged leaf is one of Piranha Plant's leaves, and I'm pretty sure the Winner's Balloon is the one you're hanging from when you fight it. It being a figurine and an item in a minigame only makes it notable enough to be in each one's respective article. Yoshiwaker

Merge Mario Party DS boss item articles to respective minigame pages

Merge both 4-0-0-0
I was looking for an example of a proposal outcome template for my own failed template, and came across this wonderful relic of 2010s-era Mario Wiki. The bomb seeds from Feed and Seed, along with the magic switches from Hexoskeleton, have the dubious honor of occupying their own page. Even in 2011, as you can see from the previous proposal, people were very split on this page's individuality. The reasons given in defense of this page were:

1. It's a notable item in a minigame.
2. It has a boss trophy and a description.

Already shaky reasons by modern wiki standards, but when you take into consideration the sheer amount of boss trophies that don't have pages, including Toadette's Timpano and Winner's Pen that have similar uses in their respective boss fights... yeah.

This proposal will not include the Megamorph Belt, since that has actual plot relevance, and would clutter up the options present here; I plan of making another proposal for it.

What sets these items apart would probably be a nongeneric name and a gameplay function. "Bomb Seed" and "Magic Switch" are a little more specific (unlike "Kamek's Brown Book" and "Winner's Balloon") and have a gameplay function (unlike "Jagged Leaf" and "Electromagnetic Generator"). It's probably why those were created and not the others, and a few users defended it, but the arguments might not hold up today. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 20:42, December 1, 2023 (EST)
