Make Category:Mechanical Koopas for koopas and bowsers robots, and leave this one only for Mechakoopa (the enemy) and its variants 8-1
This category is currently a mess and generates a lot of discussions. Let 's decide its new order once and for all.

I propose a new category for mechs and robots inspired by Koopas or Bowser, and leave this category solely for Mechakoopas, since this enemy has an established design and its own variants.

First, the category will not be called Mecha Bowsers since it includes someone who is not a bowser, Mini Bowser Jr, so it makes no sense to call it that, if it is going to include someone who is not a mechanized bowser

The new category will include Bowser???, Bowser's mech, Mecha Hand, Mecha Maker, Mekakuppa, Mini Bowser, Mini Bowser Jr., and The Great King Bowser. While these are robots inspired by Bowser, they are not the enemy Mechakoopa.

Obviously, within this new category, we will include the Mechakoopa category, since these are still robots inspired by Bowser that have their own established designs and variants.

Just like we have Category:Monty Moles inside Category:Rocky Wrenches, which in turn is inside Category:Moles.

Also, Mechakoopas have nine variants, which is much more than other categories.

This way, we'll solve this robot mess once and for all, and we'll have an ordered category

"All mechakoopas are robot koopas, but not all robot koopas are mechakoopas"

Camwoodstock (talk) This is well overdue. In its current state, it's running afoul of the same pitfall Category:Canines did when it renamed to "Category:Dogs". Namely, yes, all Mechakoopas are robot Bowsers, but not all robot Bowsers are Mechakoopas. In an extreme case, what, are we meant to add Robo Koopa as a valid redirect in the category, when that episode predates Mechakoopas themselves? yes, sure, Robo Koopa is a mech suit and not a proper robot Bowser, but shhh--it's still a robot modeled off of him.

Waluigi Time (talk) The only case of something other than the wind-up enemies being considered a Mechakoopa is Sunshine's Mecha-Bowser. I don't think it's appropriate to extend that to any robotic depiction of Bowser without official word.

Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) - Not unless it's specific to (and a subcategory of) "Koopas (Bowser's species)" as was initially discussed on the Discord. Otherwise, this will be at odds with the cleaner categorization of the rest of the category and will ultimately be an added category (for instance, "Bowser's mech" would have both "Koopas (Bowser's species)" and "Mechanical Koopas" rather than just the latter).

That will also be implemented since it aligns with the topic of the proposal because they are Bowser robots, not Mechakoopas.

Could the Koopa Troopa-based Robo Troopas and Mecha Nokonoko (and potentially more robots based on other species of Koopas that I'm not aware of) be included in the new category, or would it just be for robots modeled after Bowser's species? — SolemnStormcloud (talk) 12:48, August 16, 2025 (EDT)

The category will be called Mechanical Koopas, since not everything included is a Bowser-inspired robot. So yes, they will be in the category.
