Amanitas are enemies found in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. They are found in the Forest Maze and disguise themselves as common Mushrooms until they reveal themselves and attack. Not all Amanitas disguise themselves, and one Amanita even hides in an underground bush and ambushes travelers that pass by. "Amanita" resembles and is named for a real genus of fungi, one of which was the inspiration for the Super Mushroom in the original Super Mario Bros.
In battle, an Amanita attacks by twirling into a party member. or using the special attack Sporocyst to turn them into Mushrooms.
An Amanita appears in Monstro Town acting as a lamp for the inn, and has a connection with the 3 Musty Fears, telling Mario they will be back.
