Miis in Nintendo Switch

Skyrim?

I'll fill this in anyway, but Skyrim isn't officially confirmed to have a game in the Switch, it's just Bethesda stating they're working and have plans for the Switch. It's not deconfirmed either though. Ray Trace^(T|C) 22:54, 20 October 2016 (EDT)

I've heard rumors that Skyrim could have either a port or a remaster coming to the Switch. Either that or what we've seen on the Switch is a new Elder Scrolls title.

Wii U

That news was being reported back when the Switch was still just "NX", and all info about the thing was still very vague. Nintendo plainly states the Switch to be a "home video game console" (see the "overview" video here). And shortly after its October reveal, Nintendo Japan revealed that it was to stop Wii U production, whereas the 3DS will continue to be supported. With the Wii U and Switch both being home consoles, and one of them being "discontinued" in favor of the other, I think we can just say that the Switch is the "successor" to the Wii U.

Backwards Compatibility

Are there any details if this console will have backwards compatibility with Wii U games? Excluding handhelds and starting with the Wii, Nintendo has made an effort to make older games compatible with a newer system at launch.

That, I'm unsure about. I think evidence of the lack of backwards compatibility can be seen with Breath of The Wild and Mario Kart 8, both of which are getting re-released on the Switch despite being on the Wii U. This is technically still speculatory since Nintendo hasn't said anything as far as I'm aware, but to me that essentially says that the Switch won't be backwards compatible. --Thatguy62 (talk) 16:09, 16 January 2017 (EST)

Sorry for coming late, since the Switch is based on a Tegra SOC (ARM CPU or Denver CPU, Geforce-based GPU) it cannot execute the games made for Wii U (PowerPC CPU, Radeon-based GPU), meaning that a port of them must be done.--Mister Wu (talk) 22:53, 18 January 2017 (EST)

Switch at Pax South

I will be attending Pax South this Sunday to demo the Switch. What kind of information do we still need about the Switch and it's games which I can find out while I'm there?-- 17:05, 25 January 2017 (EST)

There are only two Mario games announced for the Switch so far, and only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be playable, if I am not mistaken. I fear that they are reusing the demo version of the first events, which has limited options and no Miis, still I'd suggest to look both at the page of the game and at the page of Mario Kart 8 so you can already guess what could be interesting to add to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe page without adding redundant information (which is already in the page of Mario Kart 8). Maybe the menus and the new elements in them aren't yet fully covered. Also, in the multiplayer mode of the demo version the stats button was missing, if in the single player mode it is possible to view the stats, this would be a good start to start adding information about the new characters and vehicle parts. I don't know if the event will be streamed as well and if more information about Super Mario Odyssey will be revealed, in case you could take a few notes. Also, if you can have a look at the Home menu of the console (which I doubt it) or discover some information on the console not yet written here, you could take some notes about it too. By the look of it, however, these are preliminary versions of the OS, so I don't know how much can be inferred from the about the actual OS installed on the console.--Mister Wu (talk) 17:27, 25 January 2017 (EST)

Early footage of the Nintendo Switch's OS and more finally leaked!

Guys, apparently a guy on NeoGAF who goes by "hiphoptherobot" apparently got his Nintendo Switch two weeks early yesterday on Wednesday, February 15, 2017!! And has posted a 2 minute and 56 second video of him showing off the Nintendo Switch's OS vid.me (which currently has 1,000,000+ views), and you may have to download the mp4 file in order to see. As well as unboxing it on Floko (which currently has 865+ shares). You can also view the video on YouTube on Dystify's channel (links below), which he claims he will take down soon and be posted on FloKO (Paul Gandersman)'s channel. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo forces him to take down his video, files a lawsuit, or something. But if hiphoptherobot really trolled us all, he made it extremely convincing for sure.

But I sure hope some of this information comes in handy and can be used on the article.

Things I've found, highlights:
1) 0:49 You can choose from 12 profile icons, which includes; Yoshi, Bowser, Link's Sword, Zelda, a blue Pikmin, Samus Aran, Blathers, Celeste, Lime Green Inkling, Orange Inkling Squid, Fox McCloud's spaceship, and a Mii.
2) 0:55 You can have an owner and a nickname for one's account.
3) 1:05 I know this likely isn't new, but 8 users can be registered on a single Switch system.
4) 1:16 The News applet, where I see something in the upper left corner on Mario holding what looks like a trophy and lots more.
5) 1:29 A system update is required before preceding to the Nintendo eShop.
6) 1:31 Album applet.
7) 1:39 Controllers settings.
8) 1:48 System Settings, where it shows it has a 25.9 GB internal memory and much more.
9) 2:39 Sleep Mode.

New footage by Dystify has been uploaded today (link below) to confirm that there are more than 12 user icons. I saw at least 60 possible user icons (including Mii). And at least 42 background colors, which I'm pretty sure there are more scrolling down.
