#{{User|Results May Vary}} - The Game Boy Color, while similar, is defined as the '''successor''' to the Game Boy, not a variant. If we merged the two, we would basically treat the Game Boy Color as a variant, which it is not. The Game Boy Color has several ''Mario'' games for it as well, and some of the earlier ones are cross-compatible with original Game Boy units. The Game Boy Color also has its own peripherals, unique BIOS, and some other original details (take the [[Game Boy Horror]] for instance). So no, this would basically bloat the Game Boy article and make it user-unfriendly. Strong oppose.

#{{User|Waluigi Time}} This proposal is completely missing the point of why and how we split and merge consoles. It has nothing to do with system specifications or marketing, the Game Boy Color has exclusive Mario games that can only be played on it, so it gets an article. This is also why we have an article for the DSi but not, say, the New 3DS.

Since we cover the Conker series a little bit here, shouldn't Conker's Pocket Tales go in the game gallery? Fawfulfury65

Why just this game? How about the other Conker games? Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 22:21, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Um... I don't know. The only other one is Bad Fur Day. Yeah, if the game does belong in the gallery, that must mean that Bad Fur Day can go in the N64 article too. And then there's the Banjo series... Fawfulfury65

We have to be consistent. If we are going to add one game from the series, we better add the rest. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C)

I know, I will do that if I am able to add Conker's Pocket Tales. I just want to make sure it's fine with everyone else. Fawfulfury65

Fine by me. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Merge with Game Boy

Nintendo markets this system as a model of the Game Boy other than a new handheld. Sure, the same goes for the Nintendo DSi, but the DSi has a camera, a new OS, a shop, DSiWare, no GBA slot, and a higher resolution. The only things different between the GBP and GBC are the color LCD and exclusive games (including the Printer and Camera).

  3. Mario Sakuraba (talk) Results May Vary and Waluigi Time make a very good point, and it is also way too much to be merged into one article.

  9. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) Different generation, mostly different games, no more similar than the Game Boy and original Game Boy Advance. Also, you're not putting enough stock in how important the color is. That was a major thing for a handheld to be able to do back then.

Comments

  • Waluigi Time, some games are exclusive to the New 3DS and does not have a separate page. Nintendo and SSBB also market them the same, and they run the same game files. It is NOT a successor. OctolingRendezvous.png Octoling Rendezvous 01:51, June 18, 2020 (EDT)
