Template:Newsubject Template:SSB Infobox King Dedede is the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land, a rival and frequent antagonist of Kirby. He was meant to be playable in the original Super Smash Bros., but was left due to time constraints. However, Dedede will be a new playable character in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl, acting as a large and heavy character, like Bowser and Donkey Kong. He has been confirmed to be using his Hammer, even holding the Hammer around with him for the entire match. He has also been seen riding around on a throne being moved by four Waddle Dees, which may be his battle entrance. Some of his attacks include his Super Dedede Jump, an attack seen in the Kirby Series, which Dedede can make a high jump to ram into the ground when he lands. Other attacks made by him consist of throwing Waddle Dees (sometimes Waddle Doos or Gordos) to his opponents, and his Hammer, equipped with a jet motor, which shoot out his opponents so far while charging the reactor within the hammer.

Trophy Description in Super Smash Bros. Melee

Dedede's the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land. While he says he's king, Dedede performs no administrative functions and the citizens of Dream Land continue to live as they always have. He's able to suck in air and fly like Kirby does, but only as a result of the vigorous training he undertook after being bested by Kirby.

Trivia

  • In the original Super Smash Bros., in the Dream Land stage, Dedede would fly in the background of the stage, this could also be seen when Dream Land returned as a classic stage for Super Smash Bros. Melee.
